Last night, it became apparent that Twitter’s automated copyright strike/takedown system was no longer functional. A user went viral for uploading the entirety of The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift in two minute chunks over a 50 tweet thread.

This work by @ExtraCreditz (Twitter) is a very simplified telling of insulin's development. It also explains why it was never intended to be Eli Lilly's cash cow putting people in hoc for this medication.

Among many self-inflicted wounds, the above link being one... Stiffing his own lawyers another... I don't think the Mastodon development team will suffer blame if Truth Social goes under and the denizens crawl back to Twitter.

the daughter of one of the early nuclear engineers. He specialized in materials research for shielding suitability;
70 years old;
retired from a healthcare system after 40 years of employment with them, the last 20 years were in IT;
The proud mother of a mathematics in a Denver university who is also invilved with the LGBTQ community;
fond of #sci fi;
also watch extended versions of #lotr every year;
former mother of a bushbaby, who passed in 1971;
definitely left of center;
a voter;
getting solar panels in February;
a fugitive from Texas currently in Albuquerque, NM;
fond of all animals, used to be the neighborhood snake wrangler;
the daughter of a natural history devotee;
a voracious reader;
the wife of a fine arts scholar, who has read me to sleep every night for 24 years - all of the major classics and many of the minor ones (I got the liberal arts education that I had missed as a science student);
a terrible housekeeper, with an even worse house husband;
glad to be alive even though that might change any day with the current political disaster.

@outofcontrol I'm aware some data formats have a "description" field, and if that could be pulled out of the image by the Mast app (or web browser) that would be a huge deal.
@Pat Ah. Well, I'm happy to concede to someone better suited to handle it all. Although, truth be told, if it had to be right, I'd bring out the big guns like @\planet4589@\mastodon.social, but I can't afford him so I'll take what I can get. :)
@outofcontrol Is there a way for me to manage photos to attach alt-descriptions to them *once* and then re-upload that image without having to do the alt-description repeatedly?

@Pat Cool! And thank you for checking into that. The math is *WAY* beyond my toolkit, and the topic is WAY the hell out of my professional life. I certainly wouldn't dare dispute it, but I grasp conceptually that both forms of acceleration would have to be accounted for, and how much depends upon what orbit is used.
So *I* don't know, but I'm quite happy *YOU* do and have the mathematical grasp to put numbers to it. :D
