This would actually be a good wish.

Every news outlet should stand up a Mastondon instance for their reporters & staff.

It’ll be great to see GivennameFamilyname@mastodon.famousnewspaper.com or whatever domain they want to use.

Built in verification. Every reporter for the Washington Post on a washpo domain. Every reporter for the New York Times on an NYTimes domain. Etc, etc.

Plus the “local” feed for each instance becomes a feed of all the posts from that institution mixed together — providing extra discovery.

Hey, remember when you joined the fediverse and someone showed you kindness and helped get you started?

Do that for the next wave that is about to join in. Show them this is not the hellscape the birdsite is.

@Pwnallthethings Elon is so great at driving people to new places. He should start a car company or something.

Consider how suddenly there is a spike of #TwitterMigration as soon as Elmo bans several journalists, and their media orgs complain publicly.

Clear indication that if media orgs decided to move away from , others would follow.

And sure, these media orgs are now between a rock and a hard place, having to potentially leave their presence there built over a decade. But they put themselves there, by promoting walled gardens for a decade.

They have some reckoning and introspection to do.

Hope these newcomers remember to respect the customs of their Mastodon elders (people who have been here for six to eight weeks)

Beware those who think "I don't understand" or "doesn't make sense" is the same thing as "must be wrong."

They will try to convince you that their own brand of "common sense" is the only logical conclusion regardless of evidence/proof to the contrary.

Ooops: Tesla stock hit a new 52 week low on Tuesday. Before Elon musk began focusing on Twitter the stock was over $400 a share. It’s now below $160-a 60% drop. Turns out Neo Nazis and other vile trolls Musk has embraced on Twitter don’t have the income needed to buy a Tesla 😀

Even if he hadn’t written three of the most-loved #DoctorWho stories, Chris Boucher would be a legend for just this line:
