Something to think about since I'm having to deal with this right now:
As I am having more and more people around me who are stressed over the holidays, I am slowly starting to feel more and more stressed myself... by them. It's easy to see how this can cause a chain reaction, a snowball effect.
So if you are stressed, and that stress is affecting your attitude, try with all your might to not let that negatively impact how you are with other people. Because they might be stressed too, but worse than that, they may also already be dealing with 30+ people who are stressed and maybe they do let their stress affect their attitude.
Don't add to someone else's stress with your stress.
I'm seeing more and more people be short with people, rude to people, some are more sensitive and more easily hurt, and a whole host of other situations come up that just don't happen as frequently any other time. And it all comes back to me to deal with. This causes me stress.
What I'm trying to say is, remember that everyone else is fighting a battle as well, that you don't know about. Don't let your battle add to their battle.
Share kindness and well wishes despite the hard times, because if we can all do that, maybe none of us would be quite as stressed.

What Second Life and Roblox can teach us about the metaverse
Creating experiences is part of the “magic” of the platform, Sturman said. “It’s not like just going and playing a game, it's doing something together

It's amusing, though, to watch people dump Twitter because it's run by a QAnon dude while patronizing mainstream media outlets who can't stop using words like "racially charged" and insist on bothsidesing literal fascism. Go off, though. Principles and all. #Twitter #journalism
Well that's progress at least. Hachyderm.io is going to move qoto.org from suspend to silence. @freemo

@EeeeWooo I have been very very lucky to not have gotten COVID so far, and I attribute that to my own caution and that of those I live with.
Not only am I wearing a mask, but I am probably not going to be joining any crowds between now and when I have to go back to school. (Good thing my social life was mostly online and Discord based even pre-pandemic.)
@Jeffrey_Smith I'm especially amused by the logic that remaining in a problematic space equals acceptance of it, with absolutely no understanding of the reasons why one remains in that space. There are people who, by that logic, would condemn Black Americans for living in the Jim Crow South. Or in any of the United States in any era.
Yeah, that's fair enough. I mean, I'm still on Twitter! I just expect it to explode and collapse any day and I hate seeing people be taken by surprise by that.
@neroden What if I told you that Black Americans are extremely tech savvy and well-informed as to developments, and can make their own judgments as to timing and next steps?
Stop trying to make "the only ethical choice is to leave Twitter" happen unless you've made the choice to not listen to the Black communities who have explained why it's still important for many.
Yes, the owner is clearly, at a minimum, openly friendly with fascists. Now wait until you hear about the everyday lives of Black Americans in predominantly White communities and workplaces.
Make your choice but do not proclaim it to be "the only" reasonable choice.
