@lissa__x I have used external objects a lot, it's a favorite pattern of mine. I was in on the DynamoDB pilot and I presented at Dreamforce on it.
@lifewithryan I've been here for a few years. Back when I signed up I created an account, then saw another server that looked more appealing.... Created another... Then another...as I learned about more instances.
The local community and moderators make all the difference my home has been on #qoto since my bouncing around my first day or two. It's a really great instance, STEM related with a focus on treating each other with excellence. I'm glad I found it.
@lissa__x I've been on the fediverse for a few years, seeing quite an influx of Salesforce mentions I haven't seen here...ever before.

A quick apology to our new friends in the Mastodon world: we, the Twitter weirdos, are not just here as our former abode turns into a trainwreck we can't stop gawking at, we're also here right before a U.S. general election day, which always puts us on edge.

It's actually pretty amazing that a open source product developed by a tiny non-profit, running on a network of servers self-funded by volunteer administrator and moderators has managed to absorb some portion of one of the world's largest for-profit social networks.
It's a miracle the whole thing didn't collapse or catch fire.

@bland_one@fosstodon.org I mean... Salesforce is more than just a CRM, but you're right on the influx. I have periodically searched for mentions in the fediverse and found Alvord nothing until the last few days.
Twitter has seemed to be a dumpster fire for a long time, highlighting the worst in how people relate to each other. Will those leaving Twitter for the fediverse stick it out here? Will they bring the worst of Twitter with them?
There are ways to interact here that don't create the same relational trash heap that Twitter often felt like to me. I've had cordial interactions with people across the spectrum here. Looking forward to connecting with new joins and hoping for the best.
@mcuellar what are your thoughts on the new Salesforce Devops Center? The limit of only only integrating with github keeps a lot of us from doing much with it, but I think it looks promising. I think of so many admins I've worked with in the past who couldn't /wouldn't learn to work with git.
