I will be likely wrong, but I have seen that many times those similarities between English and latin-derived languages come from the French influence over the first.

Ah, I understand. As I said, I have no experience with rust, apart for orbiting around it from time to time. Maybe some day I am landing on it! 😃

I have been reluctant to use #ufw, but after learning more about it, I think it is not likely that I am using #iptables directly again.

It covers very well my simple use cases, blocking and forwarding, plus the added benefits of automatic persistence and enabling forwarding in the kernel.

And now for building: are you aware if tools like #cmake or #meson can work with modules? Well, there are also makefiles for doing it manually.
