The oldest complete version of the *Iliad* is the โ€œVenetus Aโ€ manuscript, produced in the 900s CE โ€” 1600 years after the poem was first written down! Venetus A consists of the Greek text of the poem, surrounded by critical remarks, which take up most of each page.
