I know people who depend on Twitter for a support community for themselves and/or their work.

Some are learning there are alternatives (like Mastodon) but I also know migration has costs for them.

So I do need to try to stop cheering every time something makes it look like Elon will sink the ship. He's going to take some good people down with him.

But it's hard give how much I despise the man and everything he stands for.

@Jelaniya @jeffjarvis I’m not still there to fight. I’m there to survive. I can barely work. I have king covid & cancer. I run mutual aid networks for people there for people there who are worse off from me, for whom Twitter was a lifeline.

When I leave I lose my only source of income & work. And people who depend on the extra exposure I give through my network on Fridays lose my help.

We feel the loss of every giant who leaves but we understand.
