Yes, they are, I got an email from them and the account is active now. Been quite busy so I couldn't do much there yet.

App stats, very little memory used. There's also the MySQL running on the system, as a Service.

Command line running, show success loading config, starting up, serving page to local user. Yes!!

First screenshot of my locally hosted Write.freely instance.

That wasn't easy, took hours and a lot of tinkering for me, not used to MySQL and all.

But I got it. Wouldn't recommend it casually, in my case it's mostly to see how does the process work, and can use to write my blog locally, copy complete post to public host.

Documentation for installation is pretty limited, and for Windows users, worse yet.

But it IS possible. Maybe tomorrow I will think it's easier, lol. 😛

@sda

I took an insureance policy on that phrasing, SDA, by using 'tend to be'.

Your statement is more abrangent, are you sure that is the case for all newer automatic transmissions? A torque converter, used inside those units, has an inherent loss of part of the power being transmitted thru it, I believe.

Thank you to the users who reported a recent first post by a new account.

Removed offending posts and the account is disabled. Please report any posts you see that are inappropriate, so we can get around to them asap.

Back to normal service, enjoy. 😺

@freemo

That would be great, thank you!

automatically follow

@freemo

I was curious of what the reason was for that.

If it's not a problem I would prefer to opt-out, if possible.

I think we should think of an automatic message to be sent to all new users upon entering the system, with some pointers. Maybe linking to Discourse Forum post with links, etc.

They are welcome to follow my account if they wish, but with this auto follow I can not set it to locked.

Thank you!

Thinking of Roger Penrose and Tiles Pattern

Just now, this morning, at a Mastodon instance called Todon.nl, a user named benignstein (@activationfxn@todon.nl) posted a small series of Toots.

They got my attention, as they included some images of an intricate Tile pattern, so I started to read and follow the successive posts. All small in length, but when put together tell the story and get us into an uncharted territory, discovering new things.

@Sphinx I wouldn't be too worried about someone Unfollowing -- the ones that I think need attention are the new Followers, to catch any bad apples if you can.

@Sphinx
That account must have been created a few days ago.

Now it's me on that list, and all those new accounts are pinging notifications, pretty often.

Dr Freeman, why to we have the auto following for the new users?

@freemo

@freemo We could work something out, yes, the only problem is shipping it. Costly via Postal service here.

But can look into it if you want one. 👍

@freemo I like them a lot too. Built to last and not for a cheap, disposable product, like so much is today.

Have many here, in storage, and in use. Tactile feedback is cool too. 😉

@Sphinx

It is a common way to refer to a manual transmission here in North America.

In Europe automatics are a lot less common, and if you must have one for rental will cost a lot more.

IBM keyboards are worth hoarding!
