@olivervinic hello, your first test worked well - -Mastodon adds a preview image of the video after it's posted. iFrames are not supported here though. Welcome to Qoto...
@k11m1 Ah, sounds good, from the search results the most promissing seemed to be Diary -- https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.billthefarmer.diary/
from the screenshots, I am guessing it does support markdown language, which would be a nice thing.
I remember looking for and finding some nice Notetaking apps to use in my laptop, one of which did support and display markdown natively; it could be a nice place for my drafts, as I do a lot of text format manually in the blog posts, markdown makes it so easy. Can't remember the name atm.
@k11m1 I did a search for a journal at F-Droid and there's some options to consider there too:
@k11m1 I use write.as, it's nice and simple and little distractions. Actually, it could even work well for your journal -- you have the option of keeping it private, a new page is created with the day's date, and can be edited later if needed.
So it's a possibility. As a blog platform, I find it quite nice.
@k11m1 Your approach of using a plain text editor is simple and works. It would be nice to have an app or programme that did the text entering and displayed it on a calendar screen; so it might be easier to find by date, or browse through.
There might be some apps in the Play store intended for journaling, maybe take a look and see if any fits the need?
I don't keep a journal, but do use a text editor to create blog posts in a similar manner.

@Thenewsspan Thannks for the post. I got a 404 error on the link, but it showed in recent topics list in the page.

@snow I think the word is out in their community, that you are the local Asian language cop. :)
I looked at the account you mentioned, and so far, nothing objectable. A really long post, maybe with a verbatim copy of any literary work (not theirs) would definitely be unacceptable.
"This account is for novels" as mentioned in the profile might mean the account is for discussing and posting about novels; which is not STEM but could be acceptable to me, better than some of the local accounts we tolerate currently.
@khird @snow I like the idea of doing it on the client, simpler and can expose the added benefit to users. Later it could get added to the server itself.
@snow
That is an interesting idea - specially when you are trying to put out a nice and polished toot (a Blog announcement, a promotion message of some kind, etc).
I would suggest the title could be a more clear is this was called something like "Feature Request : Save as a Draft"
At first reading, I assumed the "Draft" in the header meant this was a preliminary version of your suggestion. I think this would be a useful feature.
I did not include Eugen in this reply, as he probably already has too many notifications at the moment. Let's see how people react and the comments. 😃
@11112011 @freemo @snow Those people are nasty, they will be back.
Some of the accounts they have been using had been created a year ago or so - and left there, zero posts, until they fire up their pirate video post and never use it again (even more since we delete the account as soon as it's seen and reported).
Crappy, garbage. Annoying. Relentless.
** We should really add a Captcha to the registration process as someone suggested in a mod report the other day (from a remote instance). **
As annoying as they are, maybe it could deter their sign up bot system.
@snow If you want the idea/suggestion to get to the attention of the project developers, yes, that would be a good place. Beware there's a lot of postings there, and it's best if you prepare a good post, well explained and clearly pointing what you propose.
You could try posting a suggestion in an instance, an open post, and request comments first; then later proceed to the github if you receive favourable feedback.
Could also do that post and include some of the Hashtags that people use for development and admin work and chat -- # mastodev # mastoadmin for example. (I left a space in the hash so it wouldn't actually add this post there).
