Besides getting comfortable with #Mastodon, I am practising #Python in #Codecademy, and by the end of the day I want to understand what #Jupyter notebooks can do for me.

Who said fear!

Question for the #datascience and #dataengineering folks. What would you say is the most important task or activity that data engineers do or fulfill on a regular basis? Is that also the thing that takes the most time or causes the most resource constraints?

Gonna keep doing a few #introduction posts cuz it feels kinda nice to have a bit of a fresh start. A lot of you just follow me for my spicy tech policy takes, but for most of my life I was actually better known as a musician. Here's one of the music videos i'm most proud of, for my song #SurveillanceCapitalism off my album #SpotifyIsSurveillance. You can find it on #bandcamp or wherever else! youtube.com/watch?v=NvBHFLFllJ

Caught up with so started , I'm only one episode in and I've only seen Capaldi in his rendition of but I'm already invested.

Incredibly ominous.

I've just locked my Twitter account in an attempt to slowly wind it down.

Did you know that if you capitalize each word in a multi-word hashtag, #ScreenReaders can read them as words, but if you leave them lowercase, they can't? Well, now you know! So, for #accessibility, please capitalize words when there's more than one in a hashtag.

Obligatory ! My background is in architectural engineering and environmental design - I am currently a research associate at Newcastle University where I study how a person's immediate environment can affect their health outcomes. I am obsessed with street networks. In my free time you can find me at the allotment, or collecting interesting rocks on the beach.

Looking for some advice - what is the 'best' language (in your opinion) to learn if you want to career change?

I started learning a while back and I'd say I have the fundamentals down but there's a lot of room for improvement.

I'm not sure whether to pick back up and go all in, or whether to try something like and work towards front-end/web-design.

I don't work in tech, though I've always found it intriguing and I'm not sure where to commit my time. Any advice appreciated.

Hey infosec folks, what are your favorite fiction #books in this space (preferably non metaverse)? I don't think I've read anything really good since Girl w Dragon Tattoo

Productive night updating the rig, now updating the GE-Proton version to try on instead of

Watching with the other half is a satisfying way to spend an evening :)

I refuse to refer to people with the name "Sean" as if it is pronnounced "Shawn".. there is no logical explanation for such a pronunciation... No you are pronounced "seen" and you get no say in it!

One key difference I've learned between #Mastodon and the other place is that #favourites 🌟 do not help others to see a post, but rather just let the author know you liked the content. #Boost 🔄 shares the post with your followers. Boost liberally is the mantra I've been seeing as there is no underlying algorithm automatically pushing popular material to the top of the pile.
