@keyoxide @yarmo rereading your description, I understand the draw of this platform more, now. This is the part that sold me on usefulness:

@null I used to use those, Kingsford briquettes. I have a friend who says "lump charcoal" is notably better.

I got an inexpensive electric smoker a couple years ago and that thing... Oh my. It makes such good meat. And I make a shitton and put most of it in the freezer... Amazing.

@null It makes good food though... I loved my charcoal grill, but I didn't grill as much as I'd like because it's a pain. I changed to gas recently and so far I've been grilling more.
