Hi everyone, I sorry to do another so soon but we have another new member I wanted to share with everyone.

@jinohchoi recently joined the family and after chatting with him I wanted to share his account with everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing some wonderful content coming from him.

He is new here in the so would be great if we can all show him what a great place this can be.

He is Director of ICT at "Pint of Science" with an interesting past, for example he was also the Vice-chair for March for Science. He describes himself as "...a science advocate who seeks to promote critical thinking and an understanding of the scientific method."

Looking forward to seeing some great posts from him in the future.

Anyone know if there is a good framework or something out there that implements a distributed Graph Database using Tinkerpop 3.x?

Whats your favorite rapid diagramming tool for UML type diagrams? Mine is Umlet.

Oh the irony of naming a scientific discovery over someone whose entire platform is anti-education in nature. I cant tell you how many environmentalist organizations I had to stop donating to or participate in because they adopted her image too. She makes me sad :(

Whats your favorite type of matter phase transformation?

Interesting Fact of the Day:

Current climate change is happening at a pace 6.2 times faster than the climate change that resulted from the asteroid impact that killed the dinosaurs.

We have had 1.06 C change in about 150 years. The dinosaurs experienced a 4.5 degree change over 4,000 years. So for the dinosaurs it changed at a pace of 0.001125 C per year for us it has been about .007 degrees per year. So current climate change is happening 6.2x faster than it did during the extinction of the dinosaurs.

A little illustration showing my take on einstein's quote. What we know we dont know is simply a small, ever growing line between what we know and what we don't know we know...,

I wanted to kick off the hashtag by sharing a free open-source book I started writing some time ago...

I started writing a book in an attempt to help explain how to do circuit analysis by hand. Originally it was going to include both time-domain analysis as well as frequency-domain analysis. The book is incomplete and I never got to cover the time-domain but has several complete examples showing frequency-domain analysis on many common circuits. I’ve gotten some compliments over the years, particularly from HAM radio operators, on how useful the book has been to them. I’d like to share here what I have so far in case anyone might find it useful.

As a side note if anyone would like to revive the project and work with me on expanding and completing the book it would be most welcome. Please feel free to contact me. In the meantime here is the compiled book in its current form. I don’t currently have the latex source code published anywhere but if there is any interest I will happily publish it and open-source it on github.

Here is a direct link to the book: discourse.qoto.org/uploads/sho

You can also view the book as a feed in my blog here: jeffreyfreeman.me/frequency-do

If you wish to comment or discuss it there is a discourse post for it here: discourse.qoto.org/t/frequency

Apparently MUF is around 20 Mhz right now. Not horrible for a solar minimum.

Almost done setting up my new system. I decided to design a whole new theme based on Rick & Morty / STEM, seems appropriate to share it on .

This rice is brought to you by i3-gaps configured entirely from scratch

All the fies and details needed to replicate the theme on your on local system can be found here at the QOTO GitLab server:

Oh shit, an earth directed Solar Storm ejecting in our direction! Looks like there is some Solar Weather news this week!

Good morning everyone. I went to bed last night with a breakthrough. Finally got python's Goblin module working on the Janus GraphDB just moments before bed.

I'm super excited because that means the full tech stack is in place. full docker-compose environment, full integration tests. Everything I need for a perfect environment to start developing this project for real now!
