@edebill I personally think standups at a formal time and place are a waste. Obviously sometimes they are needed and useful (and should be encouraged when that is the case). But generally as long as people are vocal with the team throughout the day and clear about roadblocks and progress the standup should be meaningless, in fact the best teams will always find it meaningless and not have them, its only when the team starts toe falter that they should be needed.

@Argus@mastodon.technology I entierly agree that if a user lacks the ability to block certain comment that is a failure that needs to be addressed. But control over that should be solely in the hands of the individual user and not enforced upon them.

@Argus@mastodon.technology Also I'd say if you find someone bigoted you are correct you dont need to provide a mouth piece. Every single person in the fediverse has a block button for exactly that reason.

You may not need to listen to them but you shouldn't have the right to dictate if other people can listen to them or not.

@Argus@mastodon.technology Well there are two things to consider. Who has the right to censor vs when it is morally ok to censor. From a legal standpoint both the government and the private space have a right to censor any content they personally own, thought he government has some additional restriction in this regard (and rightfully so). I'm fine with that.

The issue is more to do with if the space is public and censored or private. I can tell people not to curse in my home, I cant tell them not to curse in the middle of the woods.

Social media networks are a bit odd. They are technically private spaces (someone owns the server and they let you use it). But it is a private space with the intention of giving you access to a public space (the collective fediverse). In that sense they are a bit like an ISP which is a private system giving you access to the internet which as a whole is public.

I dont think an ISP is morally justifiable in censoring what you can or cant see on the internet (all for net neutrality), and I think there should be legal restrictions to ensure that. I see no reason this same logic, at least morally, wouldnt apply to a fediverse server.

@Argus@mastodon.technology Call to action for violence should be removed. Hateful content, no. I hate lima beans, and think they are gross. The fact that this post is hateful and expresses that is not grounds for censorship if others wish to know my feelings on lima beans. Those who dont care can block, silence, or not pay attention to me.

@Argus@mastodon.technology Disgraceful. As much as I hate this guy and think everything he posts is vile there is no excuse for FB censoring this. This is why im so glad for things like ActivityPub.

@arteteco @fenwick67@octodon.social I think you see me toots because i set the height much higher (1600 instead of the default 800).

I dont think it would help much as a starting point for my idea really, even if they do address a similar problem (mastodon in static sites).

@wowaname I have the tweetdeck theme installed here but havent really used it. Its just a nice looking theme right, doesnt do anything too special?

I just added my Mastodon feed into my static blog. Really love how it looks.

Credit: I was inspired to do this after a post from @arteteco where he did the same thing on his own blog. Check out mastofeed dot com if you want the same on your own site.

@wowaname Whats mastofe, couldnt find anything about it online.

@arteteco @fenwick67@octodon.social Thanks for the find, that was epic. I now just added it to my own blog, thanks. Also, I borrowed your design on the "more..." button, hope you don't mind. Love it!

@arteteco @fenwick67@octodon.social Nice, I've been meaning to do the same!

I embedded my latest toots in my static website, using the @fenwick67@octodon.social tool, mastofeed at mastofeed.com (thanks!).
Looks pretty good to me, and it was really easy!

Also thanks to @freemo, who gave me the hint of having static websites to work with the . The idea you proposed of a more deep integration, with comments and all, that would be so awesome!

[deleted and redrafted, sorry, I do that a lot]

We're reviewing the Odor Log and studying the possibility of adding other kind of reports like water pollution, soil pollution and sound. The idea is that anyone can publicly denounce the pollution situiation in your areas... check the Odor log at www.odorlog.com

@imvectech Wonderful! Have fun and if i can help in any way don'r hesitate to message me.

Check out the instructions to build the device, a DIWO surface water trawl to catch microplastics for further analysis.

Another green tecnology developed by the community.
Thanks Max Liborion!!

The aim is to create a simple way to derive value from natural resources, by connecting farmers/land owners to people who want to value their work, and transparently verifying the ecological status with a set of trustless protocols.
