@comphys Yes thats certainly true, use the divide symboland it has a sort of implied parenthesis. But thats not really always an option. There are many times we have to represent math on a single line, so people still need to understand the standard/convention and be able to apply it for inline equations.

I dont think people were choosing it based on the list, I asked. I think what happened was people saw the post, and they were curious enough to look up QOTO, probably to decide if they wanted to block us or not. Once they reviewed us and found out we are one of the most mutually respectful instances around it appealed to many people and they joined. At least of the people I asked that seemed to be the case.

Yea when they posted it we had a huge flood of several hundred users in the following days. Moreover we couldnt find a single instance of more than a handful of people who even used the block list to begin with. So no instances that I could find or that came up in our monitoring network actually indicated anyone blocked us. It was a HUGE boon for QOTO at the time.

I wanted to update the post not get it deleted so we could still have the free advertising but so people knew that my post was explicitly stated as not being anti-left but rather anti-american.

The PR I submitted only added the attached image to the block list. As can be seen it clearly just adds additional context that was explicitly left out. Yet, no surprise, it was rejected in favor of the factually dishonest existing content.

It is not surprising a person struggling with mental health composed that block list. This is not a jab at him, I do hope him the best, but in my dealings with the block list this became obvious.

He added me for something but took it complete out of context. It was a jab at republicans and democrats and explicitly stated that in my post. However he posted it out of context. When a PR was given that included the full context (it just included screen shots of the FULL thread and not my out of context meme) he rejected it completely.

He was never after transparency or honesty and doesnt care who it screws over either. His goal was always to just have some sense of power and to hurt people he had a visceral reaction to.

The irony is that a person composing a block list when ont he verge of a mental breakdown was still taken seriously by some without ever bothering to dig deeper or research the incidents therein. Speaks volumes of some people.
