@whiteline for sure.
@whiteline In europe simply being outside with a AR-15 strapped to you is the same as threatening people's lives no matter what you do. Obviously i disagree that should be the case, but it is.
In my view the guy was going there to provide medical assistance (which he did multiple times) and to protect people and property from loss of life.
Someone got mad because they couldnt destroy a building without potentially getting shot, and everything was downhill from there.
Anyone who has ever seen someone cry in a truely distressing and life threatening situation would know it doesnt look like the sort of crocodile tears people expect on TV. The way he cried is exactly what I'd expect of someone who is scared to death and remorseful for being int he situation at all.
@icedquinn @vital876@mastodon.social
Personally im not sure why him crying or not should have any impact on the case anyway.
@vital876@mastodon.social
@vital876@mastodon.social Hard to say if the tears were fake or not. I agree his arms seemed "awkward" but to me that is what made the tears look real. A person who is really crying and hyperventilating will look quite awkward I find.
As for the events of the incident. He was attacked by a mob that threw stuff at him, screamed about killing him, assaulted him, and chased him some distance. He kept screaming "friendly" as he ran. He only shot when he seemed to have no other choice and strictly in self defense.
IMO based on the videos it is an obvious case of his innocence.
@Jojothegoodperson It would seem so yea...
It is official, facebook is overwhelmingly the most hated social media, even twitter is more hated than gab... interesting.
@amerika The fact that im engaging you implies I am willing to accept I could have incorrectly understood you... but saying i misunderstood you in and of itself doesnt help me understand how or in which way. I do see some hints down below so let me try to understand your point anew.
When you say "racism" doesnt exist.. do you mean the concept, or that the idea itself exists its just that no one actually chooses to be racist anymore, like its dead and in the past with slavery?
Most people I know think racism is just as bad as fat shaming, or shaming someone for IQ. But the big problem is the difference between shaming someone for being a part of a group they are born into vs shaming someone for who they choose to be. Being racist is largely something someone chooses for themself. Being fat may be as well, but it also may be due to genetics or circumstances.
@icedquinn you can freeze them. Ideally cook them before freezing them or they will be a bit wilted. But if you cook them up in some oil and then freeze them they laste a while.
@amerika you keep saying racism is a nonsense definition but you keep failing to explain why. You keep implying that "its just an insult" as if that somehow is an argument that racism doesnt exist. I'm not seeing where your logic is here.
Lets break it down. Racism is where you either hate someone explicitly due to their race, or where you insult someone in a way that implies their race is inferior to another.
We have special words for this for all the different flavors, racism, sexism, ageism, you name it. I dont understand why the existence of a more general category that embodies all of them, such as "insult" or "prejudice" somehow negates the fact that words exist to describe more specific forms.
I'm not really even sure what your arguing for at all other than to try to make some convoluted argument that racism is fine on the basis that the concept itself cant even exist.
Kyle Rittennhouse is...
PS I want to hear what you think, not what you think the jury will decide.

@louisrcouture in the video i linked you you can see all the people who were shot and killed.. first person was the guy chasing him and throwing stuff at him, who he shot only once he got within arms reach. then a large mob formed that followed him as he fled (at the advice of 911). Second person killed you can see when he falls to the ground fleeing and the mob starts to swat at him as he is ont he floor, he then shoots again killing the second person who was assaulting him. finally around that same time you can see a person run up on him with a handgun whom he then shoots and does not kill but has a bleeding arm.
2 deaths one injured is everyone.
@trinsec No, SETI@HOME doesnt use GPUs so it wouldnt produce very much heat. That said some other GPU based thingamabob (im sure there are some) might have been a good idea.
@louisrcouture I think that if someone is destroying property they should get a warning (and was) and if they dont comply shooting is fine.
Again though, was the person he aimed the gun at actually one of the people he shot or was involved int he incident? At worse even if i take your interpretation it was just some unrelated dude he interacted with earlier in the night and is unrelated to the events that unfolded anyway.
The reason i am perfectly ok with someone who is intentionally causing property damage, after being warned, being shot is because in the end the vast majority of criminals get away. I see no reason a victim should have to pay tens of thousands of dollars in damage simply to protect the life of someone engaging in illegal activity. Particularly when such people will almost always get away, so relying on cops or courts means you will almost certainly never see justice.
Moreover even if the courts do handle it often times the people are too poor to pay the cost of the damage they do so the owner is still left with tens of thousands of dollars out of his pocket. That said one would expect if you do shoot such a person that you arent aiming to kill.
All this is moot though because, again, you are talking about a person that never was actually shot by kyle nor had any involvement with the incident anyway.
@b6hydra ive had some quite awful trauma at the hands of doctors at various points, most recently with my back injury, that would make me rather bias against them. Though if im bias for the very reasons we are arguing about is it even bias in the context?
@louisrcouture For that matter was the car he was standing on his own property? Destruction of property (such as standing on someones car with the intent to damage it) is a perfectly acceptable reason to aim a gun at someone anyway. If you are actively destroying someones property you foreit your rights, you get a gun pointed at you and if you dont stop you might even get shot... Moral of the story, dont destroy property that isnt yours intentionally, if you do expect it to be defended.
@louisrcouture clicked the link, I dont see the video you are talking about. Where is the video?
Was the person whom he supposidly pointed the gun at one of the people shot or is he unrelated to the case at all?
