For those of you who are wondering, here is a picture of my disc herniation. I will likely need surgery soon (im mostly bed ridden). Since ive been unable to find any american doctor willing to even talk to me I had to learn to read MRIs on my own and identify a herniation. After some studying , and tinkering with the software to slice and view 3d MRI files I finally found a slice that shows the herniation. I exported the image and it is highlighted for those of you who cant read MRIs.

My little baby. When I go to bed at night my AR-15 is always in the room and ready to go just in case. Luckily I've never needed to use her.

So I got the raw 3d MRI source files from the hospital. Then I got the software needed to view the MRI in 3d. It let me rotate, slice, and even colorize the images. So **I** generated these images from the raw MRI. It shows my kidney, heart, and skeleton from 4 different angles fully colorized. How cool is that!

I also included some of just the heart and kidneys on its own from the same scan.

@tursiops I saw it, pretty slick setup for sure. Not enough flops per dollar for me but if money is no issue then why the fuck not :)

@arteteco Ill throw up a few more shots tomrrow of tha whole room (has my EE lab in it too). Onday i might get the other servers in the farm in some photos too.

@Surasanji Ha! I usually have my laptop docked while i work on my desktop. Mostly just to share files though.

@Surasanji I am forced to use a laptop a lot. I dont like it i really need big high res screens and preferably two of them. Not to mention i really le to be able to easily service them.

@Aisyk The power supply is modular, the cooling lines are very ridgid and not much i could do there. The cables are all pretty short and zip tied close to the case.

The issue isnt cable management the ussue is that this thing actively uses the full power capability and needs a lot of wires to carry that.

@Surasanji For your use case sounds like you have more than what you need. I would never recommend the computer for anyone other than research scientists who can use it.

But i must admit having a use for such a beast as my every day computer is a pretty sweet perk.

@cambridgeport90 I enjoy doing a new build. Plus linux runs on damn near anything really well these days. So just double check compatibility and builds are usually solid as a rock most of the time. Takes most of the pain out of it for me.

@cambridgeport90 I have very specific needs for the stuff i buy for my own R&D work for my company. The specs are high;y specific to the type of algos i run. Something prebuilt to handle it either doesnt exist or would easily cost 10x the price.

@Cheyenne It was on a 10K german equitorial tracking mount. Was my first semi-pro astro shot I took on my own equipment. I'm amazed at the resolution I got on the trapezium considering it was the first time I ever tried such a shot.
