@freemo
Israel will raze Gaza until they

1) Run out of Gazans

2) Hamas fully submits and surrenders (hasn't happened)

3) Someone can physically stop Israel (never happen)

4) Palestine cedes Gaza to Israel settlers (unlikely)

PS: every single Israeli that has supported Gaza and Palestine on this is probably on a Mossad list and, at the very least, will be audited by the Tax Collectors and might find it really hard to find jobs in Israel.

Only time will tell.

Yikes!

I guess when you make excuses like that you can justify any sort of genocide you want... we can literally just flatten all the hospitals (most of which they already did). Guess what, when your the good guys you are expected to play by different rules, when you dont, you arent the good guys.

If there is one thing that I learned from TV is that you can survive a fall from any height so long as someone catches you at the bottom.

You are going to sit on the toilet while no one else is home. Do you close the door?

Ozempic is so weird.. i never even knew it was possible to be full and not actually feel the food in your stomach.. like before full meant "physically no space"..

@freemo Why is neither side able to get a younger and less compromised person to step up?

The MAGA side in particular is just ripe for someone who can duplicate Trump's jousting with the media, while avoiding Trump's stupid statements that get him in trouble.

@freemo
I was under the assumption that Dem-leaning voters would either sit out or vote third party. I voted for HRC knowing she could lose and received the toxic behavior from VBNMW. I live in CT and so won't be swinging my state's ECVs by voting for 3rd party, will still get the same abrasive treatment for being a crypto-Trump supporter as I did when I voted for the Dem nom in '16 as I get for voting for the Greens.

@RickiTarr

This presidential election is going to be like watching a cage match at a nursing home... I swear we picked the two people in the USA least mentally capable to compete in running the place....

Why are Progressives so good at fighting amongst themselves, and totally missing the mark at what they should be fighting against?

@freemo Yep, something like that lol, I know it's not everyone, but sometimes...let's just put our shit aside to avoid Hitler Jr

@freemo @RickiTarr
I don't think that the toxicity drives anyone to be conservative, but may throw their hands up and give up on everything.

I agree with you that there should be tolerance for nuance, since reflexive abrasiveness is very off-putting and counter productive if we need as many people as possible to win elections.

@freemo that makes sense hiring at a junior level, but if you are hiring at a senior level, I think you need to be really careful that the toy project has adequate complexity to show the skills and experience you are looking for.

@realcaseyrollins

How is that a see-saw? Seems same-sex marriage has been across the board seen more acceptance and I havent seen this backtrack much.

@NBC

@realcaseyrollins

The first link is literally about a small minority passing a **proposed** bill through a rather minor part of the govt process. There is no indication it has majority support or any hope to pass.

The second link is 4 years old, and since then same-sex marriage has gotten partial recognition (same-sex marriages conducted outside the country are recognized and honored), so it has literally moved towards accepting same-sex marriage in both cases not against.

I highly advise against using the news to inform you, fact check this stuff.

@NBC

@freemo First off, a caveat. my role is VERY strange. My title is Enterprise Architect, and I have seen my fair share of code, but I have *never* had a purely programming position, so I might not understand how hiring works.

In any case, my thought...

this seems very fair, but wonder if u might just send everyone the bounty route. If they don't have at least passing familiarity with the codebase, how likely are they to get the job? The toy project seems like it might give a false sense of hope

Me and the other directors at my new company have been toying with a new idea, paying people for the work they do on interviews (well sorta).

Basically the idea we are toying with is when we give a programming test as part of the interview we basically offer them the choice of either doing a toy project that has no value to us as a company, or giving them the option to fix any outstanding tickets on one of our open-source projects with a bounty attached to it. This way if your programming test gets accepted you stand a good chance of getting the job AND get paid the bounty.

Programming tests never sat right with me because it seems like a huge time investment to ask of someone who might not get a job. So I wanted to make the process more fair and beneficial to applicants.

Would love to hear what thinks about this.

@LiveByReason

You are being lied to.

Don't even take my word for it, I challenge the moderator to find even a single example of a problematic post anywhere on our server, and he couldnt.

He already admitted in another thread we were blocked because he adopted an incredibly abusive block list because he was too lazy to moderate himself. Bunch of threads cropped up of past Universeodon users who were upset and reports of this moderators abuse has been surfacing.

@LiveByReason

In fact multiple people have even stood up since then pointing out how we **Strictly** moderate hate speech, and our timeline clearly shows that.

He has ignored all of it and even when having all the proof in the world he just keeps saying "well no one complained when we blocked you" even though tons of people have.

Your moderator is lying to you. Just go look at our timeline, dont need to take my word.
