OwnCast is great but the level of dead data / droppd data afterwards is a terrible exchange.
Per second is 1mb/s up and down stream eating energy away and for static stuff mostly watching someone doing not much... even regardless of crappy topics I don't like even my stuff it would be hard to justify and mostly for the chat sidebar (similar to Jitsi in Audio/Video chat).
#Owncast people have to imagine more of a cost about what they are doing and even allow downgrading quality -
The MASSIVE disposable data and bandwidth I personally would justify even for my own 'best' stuff. (If I have one tomorrow kill me!... but if you do like / hate the idea also do let me know as I was thinking before "live" is better than "text-only" or "unanimated" teaching / education / awareness) so it makes sense even at HUGE GB's of watching we will still watch people on screen - a double edged thing usually not working out well
SUGGESTION: At least make stream resolution selectable @ 140p / 240p / 360p video or audio only since even best talks or DJ we might not want to watch all the time and get back to our own work but would listen in like a radio a bit longer...
Would be hard to leave data streaming like that much like leaving a tap on...
Otherwise just another hole for data to be wasted and burned and apart from 'fun' it might just become another standard between those that don't understand (like having 12MP photos and asking services to given them more cloud space / buying new hard drives when they could just keep 5MP pictures or choose what is 12MP a bit more specifically!)
The cost makes me want to cut off my arm to save the body!
(in this case, save the planet's energy and our own bandwidths per second)
You can measure UP/DOWN data load using a bandwidth tool (yes you would be surprised!)
If you want to see the shit people are trying (fair enough for a bit of testing) then watch this profile to get updates on people streaming...
We could do more educational things better I feel... But then again probably nobody would watch like their channels too!

Achievement: I have grown my biggest pumpkin / squash to date!
Squash (ironic name) size is:
-the diameter from your hand to elbow! (approx!)
It's somehow flattened a bit if you were to look from above (heavy from gravity I assume) and was starting to grow even in between the pallet it sits on (it's my anti-slug device)... but I put extra wood in between to stop that (can see in picture) so still large overall (which squash is but really impressive in real life when almost x2 bowling balls !!
Probably 'normal' for a squash (the more correct name) while still growing vertically I think- 'm scare to even get near it to measure it's progress!

Currency devalues the people's work to get them chained and constantly running on the treadmill to sty alive- People may not realise or even guess such a plot against them for control... but guess what people are realising it now!! Hooray!
Realising the whole setup of banks hand-in-hand with governments everywhere in the world is the same template! (and maybe one is more devaluing the others but all are devaluing their own people and then other people too if they can!)
Now #Bitcoin (even with any negative thoughts about it) IS helping people in stopping devaluation and enabling less transaction fee costs (imagine whole countries lifting 4%-20% off their costs with outside world!)...
At least those in the poorest (which is also us but not realising it yet) already have hit bottom by trading with gov's, banks, credit card fees, % transaction costs (2.5% which maybe you don't pay but the restaurant owner does!
8% in countries like El Salvador!

In general just watch from 3mins-12mins and then go to 22mins explaining costs and uses from different angles ( the reality, not just what your eyes see because credit cards make it seem like 'it's working' but people are shooting themselves in the foot!)

At least on the channel they had 480p version (which is still multiplying copies but a bit better for those that don't have 1080p crazy bandwidth and don't have to justify to flatmates complaining that people are abusing the line in downloading massive stream packets AND no offering alternatives sizes sometimes)
This audio is first 15mins - about 7mb rounded up! Even the audio stream was available for download at 320kbps originally it would have been hundreds or megabytes for human voice (64kb or 5 times less or even CD quality 128kb still almost 4 times more)
Audio also not downloadable or put as option (people could offer the audio at 64Kb/s (not 320kb/s and achieve about 150mb tops...)
but anyway... now you have all the complaints

Bookmark / favourite or even adjust on you own channels or sites / considering for future...
record at 720p max.
Otherwise we're just doubling and exponentially using / misusing for convenience that is unjustified abuse for just some faces on screen. Stored originals if you must some other way and certainly not MAX as the default in the Peertube interface (interface could remember last setting or or middle or something ecological lol on nature and us in it - self-ban 1080p for mostly static talks at 6gb)!
