So there has been a breakthrough in my retail price adventure.
This windy winter morning, with small flakes of snow tumbling sideways, I went for more on-sale apples at the local grocer chain. Bagged, presented, and accompanied with several yes pleases, I gently offered on-sale apples to the checkout, positioned myself at the display, facing away from the human operator. Wrong price I said aloud, and knew I only had less than a minute. Off she stormed, to the produce area to check the displayed price. I ran to keep up, asking her how I could help her solve this problem. Anger had flooded her face, I only had a few more seconds, 'maybe I could talk to a manager and get this fixed for all of us?' Then she was gone. I was sure that I had failed.
I returned to the customer chute.

She returned, lips pursed, said a few words to her colleague in groceryspeak. Without looking anywhere her fingers slammed the sequence of commands to cancel and correct. Then it happened, the other checkout turned to me and said softly, the senior manager watches Yelp closely, if you post a poor review there then we have a chance. Ok, maybe she didnt say we. Hooboy, I couldn't believe it. Yes, yes, I had a Yelp account, passed down to me by my naive-webself from twenty years ago. This could work, we could have displayed prices that match register prices.

My checkout was now smiling at me. And the store manager was approaching, I did my best ten second elevator speech about proper charges using the glowing blank register screen as a prop, unfolded my arms to virtually embrace all the people around me harmed by this careless process of putting food on sale and charging full price. A customer was staring at me. The store manager had a sort of monotone response, mumbling yes, and, I see. And away he went, the store manager, disappearing around the aisle of
beers, each with colorful, pleasant missives upon them. Later I posted my message in a Yelp bottle and threw it into the Internet sea. This might work.

US billionaires paid less tax than their secretaries in 2018

Under pressure from corporate giants and the super-rich, our governments have cut taxes on the wealthiest corporations and individuals to record lows at a time of record wealth.

For the first time, in 2018, US billionaires paid less tax than their secretaries.

@amerika I knew you were from a different planet :)
But seriously yes it's an interesting way to look at it - however we seem to need people for various reasons so Earth's people as the void is quite harsh for others that care vs. those that don't.

If people is not at the center of your development process, you can't be a good developer.

@jgg Good writing there.

Something still is a bit missing without talking to people more but I get people are being pulled in so many directions and even don't want the users to call all the shots / be told "no" especially when it's so great already it's hard not to want to perfect it from user and others with maybe different ideas!

The ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ or shruggie.

Best as original. is unclear 🤷

The central character "ツ" is the character tsu from Japanese katakana.

Because our life is based on their lands and life, that is what keeps us alive.

The chain of life that war creates (or shifts) is what keeps us alive - from the energy, food and other conquest types of supplying us what we need (and waste) - it's got to such a level where we're leaning on other countries so hard with old-style people 'exploration' and exploitation that territory conquest is the only way other than reducing back down -
So without much of what we have now means that we don't exist very comfortably (it was a false supply from the beginning and didn't stop in history from WW1 WW2 etc).

It's all helping us keep our luxury going... (and paying for it as profit rewards for those war-mongers and bank$).

War is also "ok" when it becomes you or them as subtle ultimatum to the false creation of life (using death). Dig or don't dig. ⛏️

And while we might not support the invaders wantingly, we are by proxy the invaders supporting / relying on our own landlords and fetching resources from elsewhere... 🤑 🛢️ while we 'work' and pay taxes.

⛏️ 🛫 💣 :bomberman: 🚜 🔥 🤑 oil food etc 🎏

And also because we wouldn't do all work ourselves! Fuck that ❗

(I believe the opposite and we should stick to ourselves / self-sufficiency styles more often- but many got used to this way already and don't want to go back! I spent most of my life asking / trying to build better mindset - people don't want it, even you might find that after doing a few hours talk about it! )

You need the fire and passion :nes_fire: that drives it all... for me improving ourselves by sharing together... books as the assistants...

@liztai You need the fire and passion :nes_fire: that drives it all !

The why is important - asking yourself if reading all that before was it just to fill in time and now you're full ? or were you hoping to find something or someone that would give you / them more meaning and you didn't quite get it from books?
Could be internet replaced a lot with small reads instead of bigger ? (more devices in your house more distractions?)

For me now it's about "people being more the 'work' that needs doing " which mean reading and practice in changing ourselves together on the internet now it's easier than ever with non-commercial free tools... people as the magic - with books etc as the static assistants coming alive again!

If interested let me know as I'm trying to get people to practice sharing with the living and authors of the past(!) to better life!

If people is not at the center of your development process, you can't be a good developer.

@jgg I agree a lot with last sentence.

And not to undo my complement, could I ask something potentially revealing but worthy just to know... what I would ask the many developers - (some who didn't say it as well as you did in reply) and that is:

- how many people do you actually talk to for this type of development? (so not just to "keep in mind" people but how many to do really do the "care work" of listening or asking personally yourself?)

I imagine for most people it's near-0 or not needed (but could be practices) so practically neearly 0 for "people work" is common probably (not including colleagues either unless they go deep with them socially on company time about theory, thoughts and mechanics of life / people!).

I don't consider the "thoughts about making the button" as something human as interactions coming from a result of doing it - although I appreciate the consideration - just more humans part of a health circle seem the rightest way.

Nelson Mandela audio about #war:

"...The fight against ... lack of... etc...

"...it may prove to be a more difficult battle than a battle fought with arms"

====== MY INTERPRETATION ======

Solving on poverty etc might be harder than achieving independence as only one part of 'freedom' and should be an ongoing thing... not oppression from internal forces...

Winning ⚔️ independence and peace 🕊️ on home different.

====== ALSO ======

Mandela Almost sounded against US at one point and actually explained it well "some consider the world their battle field" so I thought that was interesting too until he welcomed US companies to South Africa which was going backwards for me :skull_cross:

Would you Buy $19.99 for $20.00 !? (Money / Banks)

Would you Buy $19.99 for $20.00 !?

yewtu.be/watch?v=hJ9yBgTp9UQ&t

====================
Would you pay for ?
(because that's what the system is making people do!
====================

YES - because you probably are and if you accept the banking system then OTHER PEOPLE PAY for money itself ?

ISN'T THAT CRAZY ?

Imagine people PAY for money itself ?

- paying for loan
- pays fees. % etc...

So you too are reducing the worth of money...

Paying to get loan or paying slowly 10,000 for 100K is still making it it worth 90K overall (even though it will say 100, it's worth is 90).

I understand there is all this tomfoolery in logic that "you are investing" ...in a house (also getting more expensive)... or in a company... but while loans dilute the money "market" everyone is losing and devaluing the money itself !

This is a comedy clip video example of what I mean just literally a second or two...

"Buy $19.99 for $20.00" !

yewtu.be/watch?v=hJ9yBgTp9UQ&t

Do you see it possible to improve people more than devalue money between us ?
