TWO MAIN THINGS:
1/ At least snow was responding openly somewhat / not always hiding. Almost as a tester testing things to show how it can be abused....
2/ Would be good to have a way to reverse blocks and decisions just as easily with collected evidence - for example if snow was being honest it was them doing it and you had the screenshots / info to confirm / counter the original screenshots.
Without much debate just a kind of 1:1 counter...
But mostly asking Eugene (must be crazy busy) and any popular admin to pay attention to balance thins I think is near impossible / shortening-time.

As usual with language we often miss out the middle words or sub sentence specific focus (especially in relationship troubles) so what we have in our head comes out different or shorter allowing things to get stuck together incorrectly so it sounds like I mean two tt's in whole word when I was thinking "in the middle" but didn't write it!
Now it sounds like I'm trying to over-explain the mistake to save my face or explain the mistake as something correct but that's what I meant :)

.. so further investigation shows that #Gitea is no longer 'open' open and has changed hands, and licensee, so is very much a corporate toy now.. not the case when I last looked there.... so now with my own question answered, they're quite capable of bait 'n switch #Enshitification should the for profit parent have the whimsy .. not an option that is #FOSS, or for me then.

💬 Is it just me, or does #Mastodon feel so empty? Sure, there are trending posts, but most of the posts from regular users you click on have no likes, boosts, or comments.
Even accounts with 1,000 #followers have almost no #engagement.
On the other hand, BlueSky feels much more alive. What's the issue? I really enjoy Mastodon, but I feel like it's kind of ghost town.

QOTO.org: an inclusive, STEM-focued instance supporting Academic Freedom
In light of many complaints that some Mastodon communities are excessively touchy and block-happy, I want to bring awareness to the excellent instance at QOTO -- "question others to teach ourselves". This is a STEM-focused instance that attempts to embody the ideals of Academic Freedom -- allowing users to listen to whatever they wish as long as they do not abuse others or spread hateful ideologies.
I'm promoting this specific instance because they have been getting pushback from the larger Mastodon community over their 'open federation' policy -- ultimately causing them to be dropped from the 'joinmastodon' directory. QOTOs only has a blanket ban on a few other instances, and otherwise provides users with the option to activate the 'fediblock' blocklist on their own account by importing a CSV file.
While many Mastodon users will value having a more heavily moderated experience that errors on the side of blocking inappropriate content, I think the social network as a whole benefits from having a some major nodes that error on the side of allowing speech.
Please check it out if you are interested in STEM. The server is functioning well, and I've had a good experience over there (but granted, I haven't posted much that would draw the attention of bigots).
