FUCK YOU HATERS dumping all your time here instead of spending time BUILDING ANYONE HALF-DECENT ONLINE.

(I.E It's not about Trump or my swearing - it's about focus and TIME on people - which is i.e. THE ANSWER !)

Did the test have positive effect despite sounding different on first look? It's to see if you get the point...

@dsfgs spot on about the climate justice people ignoring all other issues, often making them worse!

Lt Col #anthonyaguilar and pro-Palestine, pro #humanity activists held a d|€-in at #lincolnmemorial to remind the world about US complicity in the w@r #crimes against Gzza. Political street art action organized by a DC grassroots Palestinian women-led network

This is the peak of bicycle technology.

It's a bike which a local customer brought around yesterday because it's been a few years and she thought it was about time that someone had a look at it.

I know it looks terribly old fashioned, but hear me out:

This is a reasonably light-weight, efficient bike, with effective gearing and brakes. Nothing on it is unmaintainable.

This bike came out of the factory in 1982 (May 1982 according to the stamp on the rear hub). It has admittedly had a fairly good life, always having been kept indoors, but it's been ridden a lot yet needed almost no work.

The front rack had a broken non-essential part which I removed. The rubber strap / snelbinder over the rear carrier rack was broken so I replaced it, and the skirtguards were perished and falling apart so I replaced those as well. Otherwise, I've just checked that things were working and added a bit of oil. One of the pedals was running roughly until I oiled it.

Bike shops don't sell bicycles like this any more. Modern bicycles are not designed to last a whole lifetime, like these were.

@smolbrain @electricmood well, it turns out that I thought I loved computers but actually I love people

We can't individually reply to everyone struggling individually, so we're going to write this post instead 🥺

You do matter.
If you think you're a bad person, your mind is lying to you.No actually bad person worries that they're a bad person.
You are worthy of kindness, friendship, and love.
You do deserve joy and happiness.

We know we can't reach, help, support, or save you all, however much we might wish we could 😞

What we can do is write this post.

If it helps at least someone, even just for a moment, then it was worth writing :MentalHealthFlagButterfly:

My work on #Nomadic Identity over ActivityPub was stalled for a bit. Nomadic identity itself isn't that hard. It's the migration to upgrade folks from non-nomadic accounts that is the challenge.

Finally found a way to move forward again.  The actor record itself now has three different "views", which are selected by options. The traditional ActivityPub view, the nomadic ActivityPub view, and the exportable view - which can be imported into any other nomadic ActivityPub application or project. So to perform the Move operation and get all your followers onto the new identity, we'll just switch views - depending on what URL you access. Still a few loose ends to work out, but it's coming along.

Hi I'm Mike. I've been around the Fediverse for a while. I created the Friendica, RedMatrix, Hubzilla, Osada, and Zap projects. I developed the DFRN, Zot/Zot6 and OWA protocols.

My software does some pretty cool stuff, but I'm not out to win any popularity contests and world domination isn't my thing. I played a non-trivial role in creating the modern internet and now I'm investing my time and energy creating ethical alternative services to bring back a real sense of privacy and self-determination.

I have a modest farm in Bugger All, Australia and raise cows, horses, and chooks. I drink kickass #homebrew and play a mean #guitar.

Have a great day.
Osada 2.0 released

Merry Xmas from Zotlabs.

Osada is an easy to use social network server of the blogging or "conversational" persuasion running over the ActivityPub protocol.  There's a great deal of mature and proven functionality available as the underlying codebase has been developed since 2001 and part of the fediverse since 2010.

Plus a big bunch of internal organisational stuff. Absolutely delighted! 💚

Sending U.S. troops from one state into another state crosses a very bright line: it is an even more glaring violation of the invaded state’s sovereignty than what Immergut called out, which was the unlawful federalization of troops already stationed within a state. The vitally important difference between two is that using troops from outside one state to invade another is simply the start of using the entire U.S. Army against any one state. 8/

@FediThing They want to control the internal operations of every individual state in the country, stop holding meaningful elections, and preserve wealth and power for white Christian men up and down a hierarchy of control.

Unfortunately, the most competent lawyers and judges cannot flat out stop a rogue President from using military force against American civilians. And the difficulty is compounded by having a suspect U.S. Supreme Court prepared to decree by fiat rather than law that this rogue President may do whatever he pleases. That said, every lawyer and judge that tries to use the law to stop Trump has my respect.

Human Attachment systems meets Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Each stage has a corresponding attachment figure. Interesting.

Well that's the trouble. We did. We voted out the Tories, only to get a government that now does the same or worse. It's not hard to see why people feel like giving up on politics.
