plutocracy, plutarchy, plutonomy + documentary clip mentioning it...

@freemo Hey hope you're doing well...

Subject: plutocracy, plutarchy, plutonomy + documentary clip

mentioning it (Capitalism A Love Story)...

I'd really like to hear what you think of documentary as a whole

just the clip watch for yourself
(links at the end)...

🔴 Why I send this: I remembered one of these three words we

agreed was fairly accurate to describe some of today's

situation...

🔴 Since then I also realise the other words very similar:

plutocracy, plutarchy, plutonomy
- meaning generally:

= a political system or economy significantly influenced by or

governed by the very wealthy

🔴 All 3 words are quite different sounding in their own way -

e,g... plut"archy" ending sounding like anarchy)

🔴 Somehow this film doc was uplifting - I'd REALLY like to hear

what you think of it of the film if you don't mind - I really

REALLY like it's level of depth and line-for-line considerations

while being nicely loose and comedic...

The main reason for clip is the word plutonomy mentioned...

Either link is the same and starts itself from exact time

plutonomy is mentioned (at 54.50mins) ⬇️

Funny how there always seems to be money for tax cuts to billionaires, but not for universal childcare and affordable housing.

Exasperated and disturbed the new IP license in the Mastodon TOS has no termination clause.

mastodon.social/terms-of-servi

Facebook and YouTube have terms saying you can intentionally remove your IP grant by deleting the content. Twitter lets you remove your IP grant by deleting your *accounts*, which is punitive, but possible to exercise (I did). It's very good Mastodon's grant is limited-use—but so was Tumblr, and it eventually abused its. I want Mastodon to be as pro-user as *Facebook and Google*.

@mcc what, if any, instances are out there that have better TOS? I'm with you on deleting my account if there is no way to delete our content

Large numbers of injuries no any enough medical aids, beside starvation
I'm seeking help, even if only a little, my family calls me need to anything to eat what I should to do leave my duty to find food to them

Surveillance ➡️ Centralisation / Fascism ? ➡️ Less Democracy ?

What’s the problem jack?

🔴 Surveillance capitalism
🔴 Democratic drift
🔴 Closure to a single vision of society ()

:nes_fire: These dominations pose many problems for our freedoms.

The web giants are so powerful that they exercise technical, economic, cultural and political domination over our societies.

When #Framasoft reached the first stretchgoal for #PeerTube I thought "Very nice, those are some much needed features!"

Now, trough the power of our great community, they're almost at 100% funding; way beyond what I thought would be the case 👀 🎊

With #deltachat #chatmail and #webxdc developments we aim to instigate a new modern foundation for secure E-Mail and a resilient Web without platforms. We are building a kind of #minecraft system for modern decentralized messaging.

But who are we building it for?

For all who need reliable trustable means of modern private communication.

While our work needs hackers and experts it's not designed for them. @tante raises interesting and important related thoughts tante.cc/2025/03/03/who-is-fre

Greta Thunberg @gretathunberg has been kidnapped by the IDF on international waters! They do not own the Gaza strip by any legal standard, they are not allowed to decide who gets to dock or what they can or cannot bring. They are not the legal representation of Gaza, unless it is run as an open air prison.

The fact that a ship full of humanitarian aid is making the Israeli government go haywire exposes the exact problem. Thank you, Greta and all the other activists ❤️

Systems built upon #exploitation and #oppression of people...

seem to be built upon and of people.

(taken from quote below - ni.hil.ist/@mu/114626116042263)

GRETA THUNBERG: My message is that right now international law is failing us. International institutions, our governments are failing us. Media, our companies are all failing us. Or “failing us” is a diplomatic way of saying that our system seems to be designed in a way that is built upon exploitation and oppression of people. And so, there’s no one to turn to. There’s no one we can turn to to rescue the situation, but it falls on us to step up, to continue flooding the streets, to continue organizing, boycotting, to speak up on all platforms to try to send a clear message that we will not stand for what is happening right now.
