@coolboymew Is it just me or there is a trend lately of drawing female characters that look like boys wearing wigs?
@eSheep I can confirm NewPipe still works.
@eSheep If it helps, I'm not sure that's the reason, but I'm seeing other people experiencing the same thing. It might just be a temporary glitch. We can only hope.
@eSheep Apparently, YT have discontinued them.
@freemo I used ‘believing’ on purpose. It's some sort of irrational, almost pathological, quasi-religious and childish notion. Their heads probably work like this: “If I can't see them, that means I've defeated them. I'm a hero(ine). The world is a safer place thanks to me.”
@freemo For some reason, believing they had the last word makes them think they won the discussion. That also explains the reaction of the covid dude earlier today.
@skyblond Someone, obviously uncorrupted by knowledge, didn't think that through.

@louis@emacs.ch I'm not, and it's because they don't seem (to me) to be doing any meaningful work anymore. They fell so behind the times. They don't care about mobile applications or operating systems; they don't care about hardware, either. They just became some sort of NGO-like bureaucratic entity, only worried about licenses.
With their name recognition, they still have time to start doing some real work, like promoting computer literacy through programming courses for children and adults, or writing mobile applications; but they're becoming obsolete really fast. I wouldn't want to pay a fee to someone just to write essays on the Internet or whatever it is they do now.
@jaxwxboss Some people enjoy virtue signalling much more than being actually virtuous.

Usenet was much better than forums. Forums are the Slacks and Discords of the people who used newsgroups.
Just remind me again, who is winning the "War on the motorist"?
This is just one zebra crossing in Bradford, but the "war" is on every street...
