In my experience, the best place to look for a job is through word of mouth. Know someone who knows someone. Unfortunately, I'm in a position where what I want is not where I'm at.

I need more friends.

@rastinza

I've applied for some jobs with some Contract Companies, haven't sought out individuals yet though.

Thank you for applying to the Sr. Software Engineer - Python / Django position at Engtal.
Unfortunately, Engtal has moved to the next step in their hiring process, and your application was not selected at this time.

I've been quiet about it because I always am but WELCOME NEW FEDIVERSE USERS?!?

The Fediverse is a real social network with real humans and not a "content aggregator" please make yourself comfy with your new pals!

Also if you have an iPhone or iPad I highly recommend the app "Toot!"

Hey, we're hiring full-stack web developers for free software / open source / libre work! These are part-time contract positions, but note that for many of our contractors this is their main or even only gig. #FLOSSjobs

@2ck
It's not hard, but a good thing to know how to do. Would also suggest compiling your own Linux kernel.

@icedquinn
Depending on the crowd, you're not missing out.

The last party I went to wasn't fun. Especially when it was primarily byob and someone decided to bring a shitton of alcohol and give it to a select few.

I'd like to go to a party, but I'd like to feel comfortable knowing I might have something small in common with them beforehand. I've had conversations with random people at bars- so it shouldn't be _that_ hard.

_shouldnt be_

Fedi is the most strange thing in the world.

On normal social media, you write a message and people just ignore it forever.

Here, you write a message, it stays ignored for 1 or 2 years, and then all of a sudden, for no reason, with no explanation, someone finds it somehow, boosts it, and it gets 200 likes and 120 boosts.

What the fuck.

I'm sure someone will boost this message in 2021 or 2022.
