Isn't there a meme that goes "we can't expect God to do all the work?"
God writes in C btw. Professional conspiracy theorists agree and have validated this in a non-existent court of non-law.
Static Pages Vs. Wordpress system... ADVICE PLEASE....
@freeschool
- own search engine for static pages... plugin someone else's solution?
++You mean like a submit field that will direct the user to a new static page? Yes, that's possible. Changing content/view of a page once it's already loaded makes it dynamic- not static.
- with Wordpress I still have access to 1000's plugins and choices... pretty amazing in terms of eco system and search all here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/
so is there the same for Static Sites? I know there is the whole of the internet but to add what I need from 1 directory and just enable plugin is what I consider superior / efficient computing in many ways and continue doing work (I have lots of example static can't do).
++If you mean plugins that load along with the page and don't change anything after it's done? I guess they exist but I don't recall there being much demand for this niche. Most people defeatedly stick with dynamic sites- instead of having a custom gitlab static page.
- can static pages re-changing urls (Wordpress can anywhere / anytime I can't post URL then all links inside posts also change)
++ Not sure if I understand. If you're asking if the url can be changed in the address bar after a static page has been loaded, it's possible with some JavaScript. If you mean to change all addresses to pages in a domain, that's strictly up to the web builder and/or server admin.
To get an idea of what you're up against, I suggest playing with gitlab pages (or github if they have it, I don't know). Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I'm not entirely sure I'm understanding you correctly.
@Natanox
Which Linus?
Torvalds? I'd be surprised.
Tech tips? Not surprised.
Yes. IoT is a security nightmare.
Started making a new bottlecap table. Technically this is more of a shelf/counter but whatever. Last one gone destroyed by people I was living with. Hopefully this one will actually survive- especially since I don't plan on moving anytime soon. #99bottlesofbeeronthewall

It's not murder if they never had a life to live.
It's not theft if they never owned it.
It's not injustice if the law is speculative.
Yeah, manipulating logic is a child's tactic I'm not happy politicians make use of.
But no-one cares what I think. I'm gonna get back to my 'nerd' stuff now.

"""After having completed several test campaigns, Brave this year scaled up our efforts to reach seven major cities: Atlanta, Fresno, Milwaukee, Nashville, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and San Antonio. In this process, our EDDM vendor made a significant mistake by not excluding names, but instead including names before addresses, resulting in the distribution of personalized mailers.
Error Mailer
Because addresses are printed only after Brave’s quality-assurance has finished (so as not to expose any sensitive information to Brave), this issue was not caught in time to prevent distribution.
Upon hearing from surprised recipients about this error, we froze any further printing of direct mail until the issue could be corrected. """
@icedquinn
Agreed. Not so bad today.

If you're talking cars n whatnot- I prefer my transportation to be as easy to repair as possible. Which means older vehicles. Repairing an '88 firebird is infinitely easier than repairing a Tesla.
@trinsec I'm old enough to be a father, but not a grandfather.
Then again I'm 21+ so I'm a boomer I guess.
