Yup, it's the start of the global backlash against unipolarity and neoliberalism. That's what happens when what is generational changes are done too quickly. These kind of changes should have been done gradually over generations in order to be accepted. The mindset of the generation brought up only knowing social media, that expect changes to be instantaeous. Human behavour doesn't change just because technology has allowed us to amplify minority beleifs. If the majority of the world had online access then the western agenda's wouldn't be so prevalent.

@fisunov I had one of their developers via email tell me that this is still an issue (connecting to local hosts with that extension), so that's why I was hoping it may have been worked on. I still can't see the real utility in this protocol yet and it seems pretty difficult for the average user to use. Hopefully it's not just the criminal element using it <ie> Kiddie Pornsters etc.

I have tried the Brave browser, but for some reason I can't get to like it. Also kind of peed me off that I couldn't cash in my BATs for real $$ after aquiring a reaasonable quanity. Their extension even lost track of my BATs after one particular upgrade. :-/

@Amikke Russian's overwhelmingly support the war in Ukraine. They've been flocking to recruitment offices to volunteer. The Russian Army is not the former Soviet Army. You seem to be easily manipulated by propaganda. Check out what former professional soldiers in the US Military are saying too. Might open your eyes to the propaganda you're exposed to.

Would you pass the crack pipe please? I need more dopamine!

@fisunov Does this version allow one to connect to a local instance? I've never been able to and apparently that was a bug previously.

In mind-blowingly hypocritical UN speech, Biden tries to rewrite history - YouTube youtube.com/watch?v=khzHWQSxwg

FYI Be interesting to see if demonstrations are held regarding this new policy, implemented by the Truss government.

@MobyGrape@mastodon.social Absolutely, that has been acknowledged by the leading economists. Russian fossil fuels where cheap and was driving Germany's manufacturing, keeping it competitive on world markets. It just boggles the mind how the EU seems to be in the USian's pocket. I would expect some governments are going to fail over this as the population wakes up and realizes they've been spun a web of lies, all coming from propaganda farms in the US. See my other post.

Fun fact: GBP (British Pound) has fallen. £1 = $1.07 today. Was about 1.17 last week.

Also fun fact: EUR has parity with USD.

My laptops on minifree.org are sold in GBP (£), so they're cheaper now, for foreign customers, due to weaker £ value on currency exchange.

If a laptop would have cost you $400 US last week, it will cost you about $365 now, due to exchange rate difference.

@MobyGrape@mastodon.social That should help the US economy even more! /s

@PiedraFiera
No it's definitely not colonialism, but custom. We wear business suits if we're a professional while at work. It's considered 'tacky' to dress like a slut at work. That's called custom and you'll find this throughout the world, not just in Canada. In any event the board is going to revise the rules, because students are held to a higher standard - They would be sent home from school if wearing revealing clothes. So, stay tuned.

The researchers [from Standford University] found most of the Information Operation “likely originated in the United States.” From there it ran a massive, interconnected web of automated “bot” accounts on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms.

The covert operation to influence online audiences has been using “deceptive tactics to promote pro-Western narratives,” while “opposing countries including Russia, China and Iran.”

Tldr
“This important legislation will, for the first time ever, codify open source software as public infrastructure,”
This has a lot of legal implications for coders, hackers, script kiddies, etc.

"The legislation also requires CISA to hire professionals with experience developing open source software to ensure that government and the community work hand-in-hand and are prepared to address incidents like the Log4j vulnerability. "
So now Microsoft will be a government contractor in securing github-dependant federal infrastructure?

@PiedraFiera I'm not afraid of nipples being seen, but they don't belong in the workplace. Your argument is quite silly. Have you never heard of decorum? For the same reason, we wear business attire to work, and don't arrive in bare feet and without a shirt. Has nothing to do with colonialism, FFS!
Teaching is a profession and as such they should dress as professionals. What one does outside of work is their own business, at work it's up to the boss, which in this case are the people of the school board and city this teacher works in. They should have the final say, and they have said it's not appropriate.

Agreed. Especially when mastodon clients allow an individual to block specific individuals and/or instances. Blocking should be left to the user IMHO. This cancelling is authortarian, something they seem to understand.
