If Ukraine had a good air defence system, Russia wouldn't have air superority, nor would they be firing missiles and destroying Ukraine's power grid. Nor would Ukraine be asking for air defense systems, which they'll get a few but not enough to do much if anything before destroyed.

Do some homework and by that I mean real news, not propaganda you'll get from all the western MSM. The US military has even said that they can't provide new air defence other than a few complexes. The US and NATO don't have good air defense, at lesat not as good as Russia's. None of the western media is reliable when it comes to war, NATO and the ColdWar 2.
