My understanding is that pollution can/may destroy our atmosphere. Isn’t that what’s causing Global Warming, a thining of our atmosphere? Simplistic but you get the gist.

@marathon0 Yes. The continued existence of our atmosphere depends on our star behaving itself. On the other hand, since our atmosphere has been here for a billion years, we know that our sun is very steady and stable. The sun has active periods and occasional outbursts but nothing that would strip away the atmosphere.

@marathon0 Yeah, my Friendica instance was having problems and was going to be shut down. When I went searching for a solution, I realized that I was spoiled by using a platform that federated with both Diaspora and Mastodon.

I abandoned Friendica and moved to Glasswings for my Diaspora instance and a Mastodon instance in Canada. After a while I realized that my Mastodon instance was okay but had certain limitations that occasionally annoyed me.

When the Twitter collapse began I searched for a better Mastodon instance and moved here to qoto that has none of the limitations of my old instance. I’ve been a happy camper ever since.

@erikdesmedt Sorry have no idea about iOS. Not sure many Apple people trust many apps unless verified by their love, Apple. ;-)

What I like about FDroid is that they compile all their applications - if they aren’t given source they don’t list it. Keeps a lot of spyware away. It’s the first place for me, occasionally I have to go to the PLAY store if the app isn’t available on FDroid - Having a Pixel sometimes it can’t be avoided.

@sebastian_hos I don’t know where that suggestion came from [to hide pictures under cw]. That’s not my experience on the Fedi. Only what may be an offensive picture and/or nudity, is a use of that feature. It kind of annoys me when it’s used for every post one makes.

As of today, the Russian Army is reported to be conducting counteroffensive operations along the Svatovo-Kremennaya line of the front.

This came as a surprise to the Ukrainian forces, which were forced out of Novoselovskoye. The Russian forces are also conducting attacks in the direction of Makeevka, Torskoye, Yampolovka, and a number of other settlements that were lost after the Russian withdrawal from Krasny Liman.

Near #Bakhmut, #LPR forces and Wagner PMC units have re-entered Opytnoye and are conducting artillery preparation in the area south of Artyomovsk, intending to move toward encircling the city. Ukrainian forces suffered losses of 500 just in WIA over the past two days here.

Near #Ugledar, Ukrainian counterattacks near Pavlovka, Shevchenko, and Novomikhailovka were repelled, with the Ukrainian forces suffering significant losses.

In #Maryinka, the Russian army is fighting well in the centre of the settlement, and the Russian soldiers are assisting in the evacuation of the civilian population. The Russian army is conducting artillery strikes at the rear of the Maryinka grouping, as far west as Kurakhovo, attacking the Ukrainian reinforcements and preventing their advance.
