It doesn't speak well for intelligence of #EU Politicians that it took them 9 months to realise that this #US #NATO Proxy War in Ukraine is great for US but a disaster for Europe - How long more before they cop on + start seeking Peace? Or must they wait for the US to say when..?
RT @MarkAmesExiled: European ruling class is slow as molasses: “Nine months after [Russia] invaded Ukraine…European officials are furious with Joe Biden’s administration and now accuse th…

'For Volker Höffer, who directs the Stasi archive in Rostock, those who consulted their files almost always found it a liberating experience – especially if they had been persecuted as a result of Stasi spying. “In numerous conversations, those affected told me that they could now dissolve dark holes within themselves,” he says. But he also saw it as a necessary step for Germany as a whole, an attempt to “extract the eternal essence of dictatorships and to develop from it a serum against future ones”.

To me it's just ridiculous because they cry about evil fascists and terrible people on Twitter and then leave the safety of the walled garden for the wastelands filled with barbarian raiders and then complain about that too

They are totalitarian cowards who aren't nearly as smart as they think they are, and they aren't being trolled so to speak, they're simply getting honest feedback for the first time in their lives

@daviding referred me to check out Mastodon. He did the same thing in 2009 with Twitter and other social media channels. Usually takes some time to learn, to connect and figure out potential benefits - Now it's time to test this one.

Is there a good hosted Mastodon provider that's <$10/mo and isn't full? I'm just trying to host my own account. Or maybe at most my immediate family.

How else might we make these choices differently that tech giants have?

The fediverse can decentralize the economics while centralizing certain public squares.

The fediverse can decentralize power over identity and self-representation while centralizing shared blocklists.

The fediverse can decentralize server hosting while centralizing software development.

The fediverse can decentralize algorithms while centralizing public data.

Or whatever else. How should we be making these choices?

Many in #EU are starting to wake up to the fact that supporting #US #NATO Proxy War was great for American business and the Military Industrial Complex, but a disaster for the people of Europe. How long before our politicians cop on to themselves and stop the self destruction...?
