Pertinent to our conversation earlier this week. Love this spreadsheet showing how one district tracks replacement by year. I got it via a Lunch and Learn event, "Managing the Tech in School Districts" from a participant @edutooter (new group at Chirp Social...join it) @edutooters (old group)

Are you an educator that needs to satisfy annual GT requirement in ? TCEA's new online, self-paced course, "Understanding and Teaching Gifted Learners" can do that.

This course meets the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students six (6) hours of annual professional development (19 TAC §89.2(3) and TAC §233.1). Based on local district approval, you can use this course to satisfy this requirement.

@avalasseter You can see how this showed up. I relied on Toot! (iOS) app to do this, posting 3 items at once but in order as you see here.

Yikes, my flow diagram is woefully out of date. It has been awhile since I updated it.

Here's the latest (but not last) version with fresh numbers, but looking at it now, I see some problems.

While I still am connected to folks on work social media (the ones I maintain to share work resources through) like Linked In, / , , sharing content once to many social media outlets is still difficult.

IFTTT and Twitter are still at the center of it all and it doesn't play nice with Mastodon as far as I can tell. The Toot Bookmarklet with moa.party cross-poster has proven invaluable in cutting out and , but what I wish was a simple RSS feed to Mastodon, then Mastodon to , , etc.

Of course, this is cross-posting blasphemy on , but posting once and seeing it go everywhere else frees up time for more conversation while meeting people where they are, not where I think they SHOULD be.

Anyone else having fun with this kind of thing?

Fellow @edutooters Not sure if I shared this with you, but you may find it helpful if you're are still using the "stock" or "official" Mastodon app. This is a list of alternatives I have tried myself and enjoyed using. Share as you like, boost, or retoot/post.

Some have mentioned there are other great apps. I know about @ivory (iOS) @megalodon (Android) but if you're using something amazing on your device, please share back. This is a teaser image from an upcoming blog entry at blog.tcea.org but it's not out yet (written, done, scheduled but it won't come out until later this month).

Revised document attached. Removed Metatext and replaced it with Mastoot per someone's suggestion. :-)

Wondering which Mastodon app is the best? Some folks may not even know there are different apps for when coming over from . So hope this chart (which is a teaser from a blog entry later this season, sitting in queue waiting for scheduled publication) may be helpful. I know there are more apps, these are five I've worked with. My personal favs are Toot! and Tusky after long association (what, a month? 🤣 )

Well, the scheduling was tight, but we finally pulled it off. The man of the hour, Santa Claus himself, will be stopping by the TCEA office here in Austin, Texas to chat with students, parents, and educators! Santa will do this chat virtually at 2:00 p.m. Central on Tuesday, December 6. This is the eighth year he’s managed to swing by. I guess he must like us! @edutooters tinyurl.com/Tceasanta
