How come got more hate for supporting than making ? 🤔 If the world doesn't hate him as he continues to proclaim Christ, that says something.

It's sus that hadn't heard of anybody from considering is on and he got converted and collabed with .

One of these days I would love to have a conversation with someone my age with ADD/ADHD who was diagnosed with it from an early age and put on medication about their experience.

@jump_spider @freemo

1. This sort of brings me to another concern I have, which is potentially a parent forcing or coercing a child to undergo transition, not out of their free will. By the ages I listed (I think about 14 years old at the youngest) they should be able to articulate whether the choice is actually theirs or just something the parent(s) wants them to do.

2. You have a right to hold whatever opinion you wish! And you are not sinful for merely existing. (Well actually per Romans 3:23 "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" but you are not more evil or sinful than me just for being trans. 💙)

@jump_spider

I suspect collins concern is genuine, though I agree for many it is more based out of hate. But I dont think thats the case we have here with anyone in this conversation. I think the concerns are real for the participants here and born out of compassion. I think thats true for a lot of cishet gendered people.

Its a serious decision and very permanent and needs to be done at a young age. I think there is a real legitimate need for caution, though i do agree that should be up to the individual and not a matter of law.

But I think people, many, do care it is just misdirected sadly.

It would certainly make such decisions easier for everyone. If i were a parent honestly i dont know what id do. Your concerns are valid that its a mistake that cant be reversed and drasstic. So I understand the caution. But as i said its also a decision you cant make as an adult because it is too late at that poiint

In the end if i were a parent faced with that decision id probably get therapy for both my child and me just to make sure both the therapist and myself can explain the consequyences of the decision Make the child as aware as I can, but in the end, it would be my child's call if i felt they were responsibly working through what they were feeling.

My child is the one facing the consequences so the final say should be theirs.

@jump_spider

@freemo @jump_spider True. I think if it could be conclusively proven that it helps gender dysphoria it would be more fitting to consider it an ethical treatment.

@freemo @jump_spider I'm not familiar with that criteria, is it objective or subjective?

@jump_spider @freemo Should parents be able to put a child under the age of majority through full genital reconstruction surgery?

And again this ignores the damage done by hormone suppression medication prior to puberty.

@freemo @jump_spider As Jump Spider rightly pointed out, what would be your criteria for "understanding"?

@freemo @jump_spider I'm not arguing that it's self harm, I'm asking if you think self harm is a sin.

@freemo @jump_spider

1. By reading the Bible and acting accordingly.

2. No, because the Bible condones using medicine for healing.

@freemo @jump_spider I like consistency. If a kid can't smoke or get a tat they shouldn't be able to make a bigger decision, like chopping off their private parts.
