Emys orbicularis (European pond turtle) encountered on a path through a wetland forest yesterday. Probably trying to lay her eggs, but with all the rain it won't be easy for her to find a good spot.

It's nice to cool off in the middle of the road during a long walk on sunny day.

After the last downpours, and probably with a little help of #beavers, a new hole appeared on a road we often walk, so it's easy to break a leg (no problem for us, we have good free medical care, but think of all the poor deer)
