Swan meadow.

That's a meadow, not a lake, but they don't care how we name things. It looks like a lake, it barks like a lake.

Apparently the wires are not broken, but I was not walking closer to get a better picture. This happened twelve hours ago, we've been running on the generator for the past six hours. The repair crew was supposed to restore power before the night, but we're not complaining – some people in our area rely on electricity for heating. Also, we have a gas stove.

Ależ ciociu!

Yes, the are a bit sloped, but water won't flow out of the picture because it is still frozen.

Found one frozen chanterelle (Cantharellus cibarius). Normally they don't appear before April, this one must be from late autumn. Left it to rest in peace – we still have some in the freezer.

I left some post stamps on my desk. I forgot that some of the dogs can climb on top of a tiny doghouse standing next to my desk. Guess someone won't get their postcards. [the two mauled stamps commemorate an old Polish comic book series "Kajko and Kokosz" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kajko_an]

I wonder what made this hole – there were a few of them in the area. Vuko didn't try to dig so I assume whatever it was it isn't below that ice but just walked away :)

Today was quite warm – around 3°C – but this ice is very strong, and even if it broke there's no more than 30 cm of water under us. And we're just a few hundred metres from our warm house.

W usually cannot walk among those trees – most of the time the ground is flooded. So the only chance is either when the water freezes, or when we have a very dry summer. Unfortunately the latter happens more frequently now.
