One of the issues raised was using the CW option. We use it with disturbing images, but...

It is challenging, but should all history of #Auschwitz be a CW? Most of our posts remind people, victims of the camp. We show their names, faces, individuality & commemorate them on their birthdays. Marking them with a CW seems somehow wrong.

What do you think?

I guess a bit of a more formal #introduction

I am a newly started postdoc at The Sainsbury Laboratory (Norwich, UK).

I study #lichen #symbiosis. My ultimate goal is to figure out how different symbionts - fungi, algae, bacteria - self-assemble into #lichens, which are big, complex, and three-dimensional. I use meta-omics, #bioinformatics, and cell bio tools to answer this question.

I love nature, programming, and cats.

Just signed the first copy of my #book, headed overseas to two of my wonderful, patient, kind sources. Giving away all my comp copies to the many, many sources who took the time to teach me. NOW it feels real. *sniff*

I was fighting with robustness for multi-field plasticity last week.

Multi-field means that I have no nested problem at the integration point. That creates many opportunities, i.e. matrix-free block solvers, ALE etc.

The trick was to make it work for any element, hex or text, with an HO geometry (curved surfaces).

Finally, I cracked it :)
