So...Ontario's population is growing & aging quickly. We're going to be short 33,000 nurses & PSWs. And patients are facing record high wait times in ERs right now…but our government is underspending on healthcare by $21.3 billion?

How does this make any sense?

It was more my girlfriend than me that wanted to leave Britain. I was on the fence - I love Scotland, I hoped for second indy referendum.

She said "We have to go. Brexit Britain is going to the dogs. The way things are in Poland, we might be pulled out of the EU too, or be kicked out of it. We need to be safe, in some normal country with our EU rights intact. Otherwise we'll be stuck between Brexit britain and right-wing Poland.

I've read the news today from Poland and UK. She is so wise!

@RoboticistDuck I'd suspect some arthropod, but I won't cut it open to check. It's just a few hundred metres from our house, so I'll have a chance to check how things are developing.

Happy International Women's Day! Just a reminder that Margaret Hamilton is a total badass and early innovator in the field of Software Engineering. Her pioneering work in task prioritization allowed the Apollo 11 moon landing to proceed even when the onboard computer became overwhelmed with too many tasks at a critical point in the mission. The software she wrote was flexible enough to ignore low priority tasks so that the computer could focus only on the tasks necessary for landing the LEM safely on the moon. Without her task prioritization routines in place, it's likely that the landing would have had to have been aborted.

For International Women's Day I feel it is my responsibility to make sure you are aware of the giants of #SpeculativeFiction #UrsulaLeguin and #OctaviaButler

I'm a voracious reader and I know exactly why I barely/never heard about them until I was nearly 50 - it rhymes with matriarchy.

@Popehat Don't give her data, but make sure she reminds the captain of "women and children first". It really helps.
