All I'm saying is don't waste time on folks who think having no empathy is objective.

They've given up on themselves a long time ago and just want to spread their malice.

Looking back, I'm rather disappointed with myself for the amount of time and effort I've spent (both online and in person) trying to convince white supremacists to see and care about police brutality and racism.

It is an utter waste of time with an approximately 0% success rate.

Only through taking action in combination with other people who care about those issues can we fix things.

A NATO E-3B Sentry is watching our dogs, , from the sky. Pietruszka, the operations specialist, is watching NATO from the ground. It took a while, but she got used to it and barks only once in a while. NATO doesn't bark back.

How likely is it that you will still be on Mastodon a year from now?

Miły wieczór z sąsiadką. Kłócimy się o to, czy słowo "wsiok" jest obraźliwe, czy nie.

Reading this, I was reminded of the fact that a few years ago, I listened to ~60 hours of podcasts every week. Once some of my faves started moving within walled gardens, I got frustrated and lost interest in the medium as a whole.

But if shows aren’t remaining trapped on exclusive platforms, I might start listening again.

Keeping warm by the wood burner pals. Soon time for a little snack and bed 🥱

They’re playing the long game, but the dogs in my neighborhood WILL eventually take this mailbox down.

Libraries are just amazing.

I’m on the other side of the world in a lovely public library in Australia & spotted a book I co-wrote 14 years ago. And no matter where you are, librarians are always the kindest, most helpful people you’ll find. Still, somehow, this magical system of exchanging #books & sharing ideas is entirely free.

@LGsMom @flexghost in the medical field, most people have to carry insurance for accidental harm they might cause. Cops should have it for the intentional harm they cause. First time they have to pay for their abuse that insurance won’t cover, it will get their attention

Two of the problems I've had with salvaged LiPo batteries from disposable vapes is that the wires are really thin and fragile, and that they're all different shapes and sizes.

I'm trying out a standardised battery sled made from Veroboard / stripboard to solve both of these problems.

Hopefully they'll make it easy to swap out when they're deployed on wireless sensors around the house.

5 towering men filed into our conference room in the Hart Senate office building.

“Hello little lady,” one lightheartedly greeted me, glancing back at the door as if still waiting for someone.

“It’s nice to meet you,” I began. “What brings you here today?”

The group shifted in their seats, perhaps mildly irritated. I guessed they expected to speak directly with a U.S. senator rather than the 25yo woman sitting across from them.

Marianne North traveled to 6 continents & 17 countries, painting exotic plants in remote & hazardous jungle environments… all while travelling alone in Victorian dress in the 1800s.

North depicted over 1,000 scientifically accurate pitcher plants, orchids, ferns & more. Her oil paintings introduced botanists to multiple previously unidentified species & several are named after her.

Her art has its own gallery at Kew Royal Botanical Gardens. artsandculture.google.com/stor #women #history #art #science
