Final reminder that I'm at the Royal Institution, London, tonight, to officially launch my new book Emotional Ignorance.

Do come if you can, I promise it'll be potent.

Owszem...
@harphat thx🥰
though it is the earliest date in my life to find blooming violets where I live (northern Germany). Thx climate change. I make a note every year, and it is every new year some days earlier. 20 years ago it was usually early March. All my old botany books are crap now.
Thinking about how TWO devices that I own are “obsolete"—not because the hardware has kicked the bucket—but because Google simply doesn’t want to provide security updates for them.
And now that I think about it, it’s all so wasteful.
Here’s a strange thought for you. I own a Sony Walkman that was made decades ago. It still plays NEW cassettes sold on Bandcamp. The device is probably ~30-years-old.
None of these Android phones will be usable in 30 years.
Amazing what detail a mobile phone camera can pick up. Seriously mossy branch in West Wales
Today three of us picked litter in an area we're #rewilding. We removed about a quarter of a tonne of bottles, crisp packets, furniture, polystyrene packaging and aerosol cans. We've picked here before and are gradually beating back long hidden pockets of waste. We're winning.
It seems like an innocuous job, a boring one and decidedly unsexy. When you see plant and animal life returning as a result though you realise what an important job it is.
If you feel hopeless, pick up some rubbish.
A frosty mossy maze of branches from a fallen willow tree bathed in some soft morning light.
This is another image from a productive morning down at the local reed marsh. I just love the subtlety of the diffused morning sun giving the mossy branches a nice glow.
The branches are being backlit, but the frosty reeds and grasses are still in shade.

Hung out a little with the Beav today, he, she or they were on a mission, swimming straight for the lodge. Did pop up to say hey though. Stay alive, #GetOutside. #Hiking #Beavers
Mabel is in stealth mode for today’s ‘Spot the Dog’.
I've taken so much pleasure in #mosstodon, I feel I owe you all a contribution. Et voilà, a mossy wood shingle roof. Taken at Wyck Historic House And Garden, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
