Learn about Calva's support for a Rich Comments workflow: calva.io/?q=rich+comments

I didn't realize that those who thoughtfully choose dynamic typing, like , are setting themselves against the opinion of such big dogs as Microsoft. You know, unless you practice gradual typing like Spec.

YASSS, MY MAN! This is one for the history books, my friends. I got to chat with one of my favorite clojureverse role models of all time: Eric Normand!!   We hear about his new book titled "Grokking Simplicity" published by Manning (discount codes below!!).  We hear a little about his life and personal history in regards to how he got into creating instructional content (peace core? COOL!)  He shares his thoughts illustrating key concepts that will help you to be a wise architect while planning out and developing a software project. Questions regarding asynchronous logic, mutable data (don't be scared my peeps)  We discuss how to uncover the "universal truths" in your code base so you can write better code.   We get to the bottom of the meaning of "domain driven development" and how to compares it to a more data oriented approach.  Personally, I credit his instructional work with the basis of my entry into the clojureverse, and I know I'm not the only one.  ENJOY! 🦊 I'm excited to announce Sitefox v0.0.1!

It's a ClojureScript backend web framework that runs on Node. One year ago I went all in on full stack cljs and Sitefox is the result.

Today I have over an hour fighting how one WordPress thing inserts an extra containing <p> on plaintext vs wysiwyg, and a theme sticks inline width into some images. In both cases we were fighting the Framework instead of benefitting. All I could think of was how I've never appreciated more the community dislike for frameworks. Frameworks make it so the beginner can do it but the pro cannot.

Just introduced this classic talk to some of my devs, when introducing David Nolen and why his perspective is good to hear besides Rich Hickey. youtu.be/8o01g6C7jWg

Here are my choices:

🎨 -- Reagent or Re-Frame (both tried and proven w/react.js)
🖥 JVM for entire Java ecosystem
🪣 Clojure - PostGres w/HoneySQL, or TXDB for raw-Clojure high-performance Datalog
🚢 Uberjars for 1-line deploy, with Jenkins for CI/CD

What's your tech stack and why?

Here are my choices:

🎨 Frontend: React, MaterialUI (robust, mature, I'm familiar with them)

This called to mind the importance of 1:1 meetings with the team members I manage. I'm using a language that emphasizes a preference for small functions, small libraries, and individual productivity. The conception of our teams should reflect that too.
