@Inocrealist@nerdculture.de I'm relying on the "now" Mastodon showed me for your post. This is current, right?

Anyone know a good way to share/version control a gpg encrypted file? Normally I would just use git, but git loses value vs the encryption

What bothers you more -- the suggestion that programming= or the mis-alignment of the answers?

Just to keep my mind sharp, keyboard dancing:

1- switch Dvorak <> QWERTY periodically
2- Always apply emacs Dvorak key-swaps
3- Try to operate exwm on QWERTY with the DVORAK customizations.

I laugh so I don't cry.

Web3 is just the marketing campaign for Etherium, right? No community, no ethical basis, no history?

@icedquinn @samtuke Yeah, I'm torn on this one. My career is webapps, so I recognize the value of interfaces like gitlab/hub, especially for onboarding and project history. But of course the centralized github model seems yicky to our Mastodon-loving sensibilities. For email-driven, you still need an interface to track things. Hence, I guess, host-your-own Gitlab?

@icedquinn @samtuke I don't know about "supposed to", but I have found some projects that leverage `git email` to negotiate collaboration. Very interesting! I haven't found a good way to swap that into my organization, though.

Cause for freedom-lovers to celebrate: #GitLab heads to IPO with $233M ARR and 69% growth rate. They are the reason that #Git today is still a viable fully #OpenSource solution. Without them we'd be stuck with Microsoft's proprietary #GitHub veneer. 👋 7 year user here. Onwards! cnbc.com/2021/09/17/github-riv

Hard when you can't select the text to catch the difference in the 2nd one. But I'm all for localizing stuff :)

I have mixed feelings about this. I love decentralized, but also love GoodReads as one of the last bastions of quiet apps (despite purchase by Amazon)

Sick and tired of the same old social media platforms? There are now 93 #fediverse-powered alternatives in the wild, so feel free to pick and mix 🍡 Next on my list? A #GoodReads replacement fediverse.party/en/miscellaneo

This applies to all Lisps — and every other language actually as well.

@Valenoern@floss.social @alexandra I generate with Hugo, then use rsync to send the diffs to my server

@nebunez sounds like a Firewall issue, either on the machine or on the network. Ugh. Those are a pain to work around.
