Time I once again asked the question, "this year what are the differences between #MySQL and #Postgres?" Extensibility is a huge one (so you can program addons to Postgres but not MySQL). and also this thing called Materialized Views. https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.3/rules-materializedviews.html
It looks like you can take snapshots of the data at a certain point. A full-blown XTDB it's not, but that could be useful.
