Has anybody else suddenly found that this week they can no longer record Google Meet meetings?

RT @interstar
@quoll @AQAguy Agreed. Obviously you can implement some of the good stuff of Clojure as Java libraries (that's what Clojure itself does). But it is just amazing (and painful if you're on the wrong side of it) how much better Clojure is than Java.

RT @quoll
"The Python to do this here isn't too long. Only 650 lines."

As a Clojure dev, I am wincing

RT @a_wiersdorf
@wilbowma Ugh. I’ve been going strong on the “my whole life is in Emacs” thing for a while now. Personal mail is Fastmail, so whatever, but this will not be pleasant at work. Boo.

RT @wilbowma
Hope you don't use GMail through a custom or open source mail client pmail.com/newsflash.htm

RT @OliverCaldwell
Clojure 1.11+ adding random-uuid / parse-float / map-values etc is so good. Thank you, Clojure team!

@souldessin What speed do you get on your wireless? I am coming to believe that this slowness is the norm

@fndriven @xtdb Are you talking about the space travel tutorial? I like that one!

@Lyude what are they doing? Are they adding junk to your message?

Wait -- you're telling me that for years I thought the .well-known directory was created by some malware, but it's actually autossl? And protecting myself against this was when my SSL ceased renewing?

It's been a while since I saw the @xtdb @xtdb_com front page, but it's looking great now as I did my first bit of workplace evangelism for the database xtdb.com/ . It has potential for university humanities research projects.

Native apps are intrinsically costly and require justification before they are brought in with security issues, mental and device and internet bandwidth waste, and opaque operation. "install the app!"should never, I repeat NEVER, be the default

@101101000 I switched out my old cat5 for a cat6 this morning, no visible difference. NICS are in a new laptop and phone, so both should have no slowdowns there.

@carbontwelve I feel better, then. That is pretty close to what I am getting via 5ghz

Continuing my quest to get my full fiber-optic speed With my new router my ground-zero (no obstructions, full bars connection) wifi speedtest is 35% of the speed I get when bypassing the router by putting hard line right in to computer. Before the new router it was 15%. Still debugging to figure out what is slowing it down.

RT @devonzuegel
for those of you who are like past me, here's what you're missing: twitter.com/devonzuegel/status

I strongly encourage you bring this joy into your own life by coding in a language that encourages use of a repl connected to your app state. I wish someone had told me this years ago
