My #ClojureScript #ShadowCLJS is not hotloading, although its codebase is just a copy of another that worked beatifully, and that a copy of another that never had troubles, either. I've looked over every difference I can find and see nothing. The WATCHER is working fine; when I make a code change, I see a spinner. But updates don't actually appear. React Devtools also show that nothing is connected. But manual hitting "refresh" works, though it feels like I'm back in the stone ages...

I am a big fan of extending old, good technologies rather than recreating the wheel. #Email is one of these; both #DeltaChat and @zulip #zulip do this, in very different and equally inspiring ways.

As far as I can tell, the Achilles Heel of email is that it is TOO easy, and that has given rise to its antithesis, #spam.

My #Firefox has crashed three times today, without warning -- I just look up and its gone. It's never done that to me before! The only new thing I can think of is that I've added Discord to its work load...

I just love it when my browser WORKS. When the website doesn't break my "open in new tab" or my "back" or my "history." And I love when it's a surprize. When I click something that I was sure was going to break stuff, and it worked without breaking! No more stupid JS-only on-click handling with a useless link, etc. #webdev #htmlFirst

#humor #python and #CLang performance are largely synonymous to outsiders thanks to wrappers, but in a conversation just between the two of them, speed and errors may be characteristic. I like this double-jab

- Bad: silent errors without any log of what's going on.
- Evil: email sending & retrieving silently failing and only a third perspective even tells you that you are blind and dumb for the past 30 hours.

No matter how much I required or load-file or check-parens, nothing explained why half a file of #emacs #elisp wasn't loading. Somehow the closing three `'")' had been stripped from two neighboring lines, and somehow the syntax had been balanced enough to satisfy the checkers. That was to hunt down.

Oi. The #Javascript fails in my #Hugo partial if I insert it at the top, not the bottom. And here I thought #JS was a #HoistedLanguage...

Well, that was weird. My dock had stopped charging my laptop. I switched cables around and charged other things (my phone) just fine. Then I bypassed by dock; USBC straight from power to laptop. still no charge. I restarted exwm. Still no charge. So I shut down my computer, seeing if it would charge while it was off. Bingo! Then I restarted my machine. It kept charging! Was it the computers USBC failing to carry charge? Was it my Totu dock failing to paso the charge to the PC? Was it my custom power brick being too smart for its own good, failing to provide power? I'm not sure. But for sure, #NewYearVoodoo. I hope that's the last time I need to use that hashtag.

In order to accomodate Github 2fa I've started using Jürgen Hötzel #emacs #totp https://github.com/juergenhoetzel/emacs-totp , which is a beta library leaning heavily on the ancient but unknown-to-me core #auth library https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_mono/auth.html#Overview . As if it wasn't enough to know "emacs can do that," it turns out "emacs did that decades ago."

My emacs is failing to negotiate addresses that always worked before, though Curl does just fine by them. Errors indicate that #gnutls might be the problem. I wonder what happened and if more will break if I update it... #guix
