The #balloon: let me drop some knowledge. (A thread) I co-founded the largest high-altitude ballooning project in history and was for years its chief technical architect and lead designer. I’m referring to Google [x]’s Project Loon (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loon_LLC). I have deep practical and operational knowledge about high-altitude ballooning; I’ve designed many iterations of these vehicles and personally overseen dozens of launch operations.

That makes sense, thank you good video, will be interesting to see what happens.

She chose to put her chancellor in the job, only for him to screw up big time, she is responsible for who is in different posts.

@MarkRubin @failedLyndonLaRouchite @devezer @modrak_m That's interesting, and resonates - I've also found my self wondering "did these people read my paper?".
I think I read something, and can't remember where, along the lines of authors feel compelled to provide citations for everything and anything out of fear that they be called on it, namely by referees.
If someone has some references for this I would appreciate.

I am not sure on this either. I know from when I studied the science courses at the OU, we usually have to list all the books or sources we have read. I think there is a difference between references (cited information) and a bibliography which is a list of everything, even if we have not actually quoted or used information within.

You can have 10 sources listed in the bibtek file, cite 5 and only those 5 will be listed.

It may also depend on the journal you are submitting to, as each have their own requirements and format for how items are listed.

I will let those who are doing more academic writing comment further.

@Gallowglass If Scotlands wants to rejoin the EU would they just switch to the Euro?

@danwentzel

I think with military might it should also include how it is used, humanitarian work is essential and uses lots of skills taught in the military, from rescue, rebuilding infrastructure, getting aid field hospitals set up in remote areas.

Du bist doch schon der größte Planet.

And the Chinese balloon is down. Good shot, Mr. President.

Another little #linux question I've pondering for some time.

Let's say I build myself a nice little #nixos on a VM. How can I make that into a "live cd" ISO that I can flash onto a USB drive and use as a live environment.

I dont need it to have an installer, just make the image bootable and useable on the USB?

Possible?

Made it to the botanical gardens, accidentally walked into an orchid exhibit! Lots of people. Wow.

Spying on superpowers is fine. Its the spying on the citizens that is the bigger issue IMO
