@pomarede

I downloaded the paper so will try and have a read, not that I may understand much of it, only done basic stuff with the OU Certificate in Contemporary Science, but nice to keep updated on what is going on.

@zleap @katecoldwind @kityates I work in health and social care (in business support/IT, not treating patients) but I see at first hand the problems that are occuring - the govt keeps outsourcing/privatising various parts of healthcare but not even providing sufficient funding, creating a crisis where no one wants to work in the industry as they can get better pay and conditions even in retail jobs or driving taxis etc (with less stress and travel requirements)

@stux

Now if we can just get through to the people using facebook this is happening the may actually LEAVE.

BREAKING: #Meta prohibited from use of personal data for advertising

Max Schrems: "Instead of having a 'yes/no' option for personalized ads, they just moved the consent clause in the terms and conditions. This is not just unfair but clearly illegal. We are not aware of any other company that has tried to ignore the GDPR in such an arrogant way."

Gotta love this :blobcatamused: :blobcatgiggle: Finally!

Does the Speaker of the house HAVE to be republican, given the democrats are in the White Hose?

@LauraKT@mas.to

But they are meant to vote, so they get the right percentage to call strike action.

@lizbonnin

Now all we need to do is give @gretathunberg a collection of models cars that match Tate care collection.

I would assume he expects the same treatment in a Romanian prison / justice system has he would end up getting in the UK, not a chance and probably even less chance of being able to cry to the EHCR,

Time for Tate to face the music.

This ongoing saga just lights up dreary January doesn’t it? 🤭

@kityates

They are totally oblivious to the problems, we know part issue is the social care system, low pay,m low value no prospects for moving up. Jobs are more than about pay, people want respect for the job they do, could be a janitor right up to senior management.

We need to find a way to encourage people in to social care, then if they want to move up to senior levels and go in to other health care roles, make it easy for them to move up, (once they are working for the NHS this should be easier) if you want to from from Home care to brain surgeon why can't it be possible to move up the ladder.

…Not once did anyone, including senior leadership, suggest punitive action. Nobody blamed the engineer. Instead, we all focused on how our systems could allow something like this to happen by accident.

Culture is incredibly important in the workplace. This engineer was blaming himself for causing an outage, but the rest of us were blaming ourselves for allowing it to happen. If we acknowledge that humans aren’t perfect, that they’re well-intentioned, we move past blame and towards resiliency… 🧵

@mistyswoman

At least Labour are going to repeal the strike laws when they get in.

RT @Beany_1@twitter.com

If you want to protest, the government has restricted that.
If you want to vote, the government have made it harder.
If you want to strike, the govt plans to make it easier to sack you.

Tories have dragged us into full on authoritarianism.
