'Lawful access' bill would allow feds to legally bust into encrypted devices. "This is the full-frontal nuclear assault on encryption we've been fearing would come, but which no lawmaker previously had dared to put forth," @Riana_Crypto
tells @NBCNews

Would I be right in thinking, that as e-commerce relies on encryption to work (so transactions are secure) this law could have implications if people lose trust in the system designed to make transactions safe.

One of the issues with main stream social media, and i guess the media in general .

A banner displaying "white lives matter" flown over football (soccer) game

"Shortly after kick-off for Monday's match between Manchester City and Burnley, a small plane with a banner saying "White Lives Matter Burnley" flew over the pitch at the Etihad Stadium. In a club statement issued at halftime, Burnley condemned the actions, issued an apology to the Black Lives Matter movement and vowed to give lifetime bans to those responsible."

--
My issue here is that very condemnation and resulting publicity that it has caused , seems to have spread the message further. So in once sense, the people undertaking this stunt, appear to have won through more publicity.

If this didn't make the news then it would not go viral as a story, banner only seen by a few people.

Hey fediverse!

I'm looking for some motivated computer programmers to learn and collaborate with.

I am the sole developer at my job, and the (mostly) sole developer for all of my side projects; and to be frank, I've been lonely.

My goals are to further study mathematics and computer programming fundamentals in order to become a true professional and not just some "guy who makes webapps". I want to contribute meaningfully to my field and the world.

Feel free to boost, dm, and share links.

@ademalsasa I used to build #KDE from sources back in the 1.x and 2.x era. On a SparcStation 4, it took about one day to build Qt, KDE, and Konqueror (both the file manager and my browser of choice).

g++ was incredibly slow, and there was some heavily templated library used by KDE that was making it swap 😰

#DRM is annoying and make me feel like I am treated as a criminal.
I paid for it and purchased it the legit way. Why would you put barriers in front of me when I try to use, read, listen to, play, watch it.

Why do people who pirate get to have better user experience and more options than I do :ac_angry:
