Free book!
I haven't read this (yet) -- it has just been published -- but the topic is compelling at first glance it certainly seems worth a look. Also it is Open Access, so why not check it out?

How about courses in hosting federated social networks such as #Mastodon #Peertube etc
@joinmastodon @joinpeertube
Get the skills for when the fediverse really takes off and makes FB, Twitter go the way of the DoDo.
#introduction Well hello Mastodon! Having a look around, very nice, very nice. I very much like the ‘Toot!’ button 😄
Bookmarked: List of hundreds of journalists to follow on Mastodon (maintained by @tchambers )

@zleap I use overleaf a good deal... gonna check this out.
This looks interesting for people who use #LaTeX, #Overleaf or work in sciences
Introducing Overleaf Labs

I don't work for overleaf I just use the platform, and really recommend it.
@lucifargundam @zleap my point being that starting your own company is always an option. I recommend setting up a consultancy (sole trader) company (I still have one). It also makes it easy for you to work for companies with minimal commitment and more control, and test the 'fit' for your ethics. I think it also impresses a prospective business customer with your organisation. If you find a company you're happy to work for, you can become an employee if you (and they) prefer.

@silentbaz Gillette lab soccer. Just showed cracking shot from Oxlade Chamberlain (just went wide)
@lucifargundam @zleap not sure. I worked as a research scientist for 5 years after finishing my MSc in engineering. Got frustrated with the organisation's poor management and their use of MS WIndows, so I quit and started my own company at age 29. I was able to avoid anyone else's incompetence other than my own. Worked out quite well. Now working for a charitable foundation, which is making the world a better place.
We just submitted an application for a stand at #FOSDEM 2023.
Fingers crossed we'll get a stand.

Sadly having Facebook / Meta / Twitter on their CV makes them more employable, despite the lack of morals and ethics of their previous employer(s)
I'm not a football fan, but I am a bit of a Welsh Nationalist.
But I'm so happy Wales made it to the World Cup. As of now.
My 7yr old daughter has been learning about it in school, including learning some songs.
I walked upstairs to read her bedtime story, and she was belting out Yma o Hyd
Brought a tear to my eye ![]()
Nice, @Raspberry_Pi set up their own instance 👍
Are there any specific instances for American Football, I can try and invite a few Britball teams
@aral @stephenfry @gretathunberg We came to more or less this conclusion as well, and spent yesterday spinning up a single user instance for @Raspberry_Pi. With the added benefit that we ended up running it on a #RaspberryPi. https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/an-escape-pod-was-jettisoned-during-the-fighting/
Why don't more moms talk about the sobby drive home from the first day of school?
Every. Single. Year.
@angel_undercover Hello! I'm a gay South Asian (Indian) scientist in Newcastle in the UK. I study insect cognition and bunch of other things. I also write and do improv.
RT @DavidHarrisNY: #OTD in 1938, German & Austrian Nazis unleashed #Kristallnacht.
Jews were attacked, imprisoned, killed. Synagogues were burned.
Jewish-owned shops were ransacked.
Recalling the tragedy is vital but insufficient.
Combatting today’s #antisemitism is the real test of remembrance.
