@redwhitebluedude people are trained to be unique and separate from everyone else. Tattoos help signal this mentality, just as the crazy colored hair.

It kind of goes against human nature though. People are naturally tribal, and feel happiest when they feel they're part of a tribe or group.

@garfiald unequal outcomes does not mean that the bias was due to race.

@SEEK no, but I'm not surprised! Ants have been evolving and expanding for millions of years. Great complexity can emerge from somewhat simple actions of millions of individuals.

@SEEK I guess it depends on what you consider to be organization. Given human's capacity to pass on knowledge from generation to generation using complex language and use that information to warp the entire planet, I'd say we'd be more organized than ants.

@johnknight bitcoin transactions are irreversible. You can contact a lawyer and see if you can sue, but the company would be required to pay any liabilities they have before paying you, which means you probably won't get much.

@ZGoldenReport it's a weak storm with a high pressure system to it's north preventing it from petering out like most storms.

@Synclair Repubs set a precedent. To err from that when it's advantageous to do so is sociopathic.

@nowthisnews@newsbots.eu he picked a woman has his vp because she's a woman. That's sexist.

uspol / media / There's Something Happening Here

@cjd what you're not mentioning is that the economics of media companies are really terrible. Massive consolidation is happening, and the owners are leveraging the companies not to make money per se, but to influence the behavior of people, particularly to keep them focused on social justice issues instead of issues that impact most people like economics and worker-employer leverage.

@fluke@octodon.social if you're wanting basics, a Wikipedia binge would probably get you started. I'd start with looking up PAL and 1080i. That should be able to start you down the rabbit hole.

@vaartis yeah that sounds like open source software, lol

What's the best switch game besides BoTW and Animal Crossing?

@karpakis yeah! Masks aren't real. They're just a socialist conspiracy theory.

@Mongo3804 this is what happens when a political system stops working correctly for decades.

@valleyforge
For the lower class, it's 100% true. Housing, education, and medical costs have increased far faster than inflation and isn't appropriately measured in the Fed's measures of inflation.
For the middle class, it's more complicated. The middle class has bifurcated into a lower-middle class that is constantly at risk of slipping into the lower class, and an upper-middle class that is doing great.
@randomthoughts@mstdn.social

@digital_carver Tusky is better on older or low-memory devices. Fedilab has all the bells and whistles but can grind to a halt on something weaker.

@CyclopsCaveman as a white guy that expresses my opinion here, I just get blocked by too many people. BIPOC really seem to like sticking to their own echo chamber(s).

I LIKE talking about this stuff, but nobody else seems to want to without getting offended.

@REX Caesar calm down. You're just marble statute, remember?
