A while back, I bought a bunch of courses on algorithms and data structures. They are gathering dust now.

Must commit to a better study plan. Politics keeps distracting me.

I have this desperation within where I wanna learn a language that allows me to build something functional right away. Quickly. i am very near sighted that way.

But then again, programming is about patience. spending an entire day bug-fixing only to realise that you missed a semicolon somewhere is part of and parcel of this trade.

There isn't much course material on Rust yet plus it's not that popular in the Industry either...yet.

But considering I am not in a hurry, I'll do Rust I guess. I can always come back to C, C++.

You know the thing I love about Mastodon?

It's the ups and downs in server performance.

Those moments when activity peaks so high that stuff glitches out a bit. Toots don't load. Notifications don't come in. The beachball spins up.

All these are signs of something real. Signs of real human activity. The sae way a room gets difficult to navigate when it gets too crowded.

But more importantly, it gives you a sense of ownership of the platform.

How so?

Well if the servers aren't performing as well as they should be, we prolly need to ramp them up.

And who feels most responsible for this?

The Mastodonians do, we ourselves realise that it is our contribution that keeps this network afloat.

A 100% crowdfunded SN owned by the people.

Gone are the days when we would throng free services. They were only free in the financial sense. But we were paying for them dearly with our precious mental resources.

But we are free now, and all we have to pay is the equivalent of a Starbucks coffee.

I’m actually reading up on Savarkar quite a lot nowadays.

His idea of Hindutva was to abolish Brahmin Kshatriya Baniya in order to bring the dalit to their level.

This sent shocks down the spines of Brahmins.

I feel the Brahmins sabotaged his image because you know Ideas are bullet proof.

But 2020 is the decade of savarkar.

Hopefully we have solved the religion issue(idk).

But caste issue requires really creative, but more importantly BOLD and UNPOPULAR decisions.

Modi is in a good position to make these moves. Let’s hope they play their cards well.
