I bet a lot of the people that were screeching that mask mandates in Home Depot during a deadly pandemic before even a vaccine or treatment was available were tyranny are gonna be all for mask bans now.
At any rate, regardless of how anyone feels about the effectiveness of masks, a mask ban with no exceptions for sick people is actually big government stepping on us.

@jvagle From what I read, they trained it off another actress who was doing a similar voice, not SJ's actual voice, so maybe not lawsuit?
@D_J_Nathanson Don't overthink it. Just describe the elements that are key to understanding what's being conveyed by the image. If the color is unusual or important, mention it. Otherwise, that's probably unnecessary fluff.
More importantly, I can't imagine that I can describe the essence of "red" in a way that would make a never-sighted person understand it better than they did before, so I'm not gonna try.
Ugh, Windows' short support life for #Windows 10 is far more egregious due to its absurd hardware requirements. The amount of e-waste that's going to be generated in October of 2025 is going to be ridiculous, and #Microsoft should pay for that.
@volkris Lol, and "what now-nonexistent piece of legislation is this a part of?" isn't a trick question?
At least my question gets at the heart of how it works instead of asking about administrative trivia.
@mralancooper Coal is a lot less uppity and demanding.
Is NASA’s Artemis program really this bad?

@crft No; might give that one a shot tomorrow.
@carloshr RTX 3080.
@scien That's too bad... not having the support of one of the only two major hardware developers is a pretty big showstopping detraction for the platform.
@scien Yeah, that was what scared me away from Linux all those years ago. I had heard it was better now, but apparently not better enough.
@scien Yeah, RTX 3080. Plenty of power, but nothing bleeding edge. Should be well within mainstream by this point.
@scien LinuxMint was the first one I tried. Couldn't get it to run with hardware graphics, even after installing the mfr drivers through the linuxmint driver installer.
@carloshr I tried LinuxMint Cinnamon first; couldn't get it to run with hardware graphics.
Then I tried Fedora and had the bad image issue.
@OrionKidder LinuxMint was the first one I tried. Got it installed okay, but I just could not get it to run with non-software graphics, even after using their built-in driver manager.
So, I figure, maybe it was just not the best distro. So, I try downloading a whole other one. It has its own program to download an image and write it to a USB stick. Great. I wait and that finishes and I try to boot it and... it fails disk validation.
People, this is why #Linux will never overtake Apple & Microsoft. I want to believe and I'm super tech oriented and I can't even install the damn thing.
Well, that went poorly. Just a bunch of blank screens and unresponsive flashing cursors, even after updating graphics drivers.
Oh well. Maybe I'll try again in 2034.
Okay, I'm doing it. I'm giving #Linux a fair shot for the first time in about a decade. You fediverse people convinced me.
@levisan Kelloggs must have one lying around somewhere they're not using 😛
