The whole purpose of math is to get the same answer as everyone else.

As a rough percentage, I have been in a relationship of some sort for less than 10% of my adult life. So in the 25 years I’ve been an adult, I’ve spent a grand total of about 2 years in a relationship (that’s not counting online relationships, I’m talking about ones I’ve actually had real world dealings with), but I’ve never celebrated an anniversary, and I hate it.

I really fucking hate it.

I hate being single. I hate not having physical intimacy. I hate not having someone to share moments with. I hate the stupid advice that well-meaning people give. I hate seeing awful people get what I can’t (regardless of the reason). And I hate that I want it.

I joke a lot about my love life and we all know that’s a defence mechanism - laugh or you’ll cry kind of thing - but right now, I want to rage about it.

But, I won’t. You’re all nice people who don’t deserve that. Just send nice, single, 28-58 yo men who live in Sydney my way, please.

The main point from President Zelensky's press conference was that he is confident that Ukraine will win the war if their partners fulfill their promises and deadlines. Ukraine has initiated a formula for peace which has been supported by 141 UN states, and victory in this war will create a new security infrastructure in the world. Additionally, they are planning to create a special tribunal for Russia at the UN, and regarding China's peace plan, President Zelensky believes that there is respect for territorial integrity and nuclear safety, but there are also opinions with which he disagrees.

In the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol, the Ukrainian flag was flown. The national flag was placed over the arches on the Grafskaya pier by local supporters. Crimea is Ukraine.

The "National Day of Hate" seems to be a flop, at least so far, judging by what I can find online -- just warnings, no news items about actual deeds.

That's a relief, of course, but it's also encouraging. Perhaps it will turn out to be as laughable and mocked as the giant rallies and marches planned by the rightwing wackos that end up being a just a small bunch of pitiful loons.

@rchusid The headline does not match Zakaria's editorial. And his conclusion is muddy. His last phrase, "letting Ukraine get destroyed in order to save it," can only be understood as failing to give Ukraine the weapons it needs to drive the Russians out of its territory. His "on paper" peace plan is purely imaginary until the Russians show some interest in ending the conflict, which to date they decidedly have not done. So there is no path to ending the war by negotiation.
